Doesn't Ives make that sort of prediction every year? 2007 : http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature?id=363294&cc=5901 Steve Davis' 2006 predictions : http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/soccer/stories/033106dnspomlspreview.61355d8.html 1. Houston Dynamo – Relocated club has the same reliable core of talent. 2. New England – Will suffer if Clint Dempsey bolts for Europe after World Cup? 3. Los Angeles – With Landon Donovan, it has a chance in any game. 4. FC Dallas – A motivated Carlos Ruiz, healthy Richard Mulrooney could put it over hump. 5. Kansas City – Plano's Nick Garcia leads the league's tightest back line. 6. D.C. United – Freddy Adu may play wide left in stacked attack. 7. NY Red Bulls – Manager Mo Johnston has no proven striker. 8. Chicago – Chris Armas is injured and a year older. But the new stadium is cool! 9. Columbus – New coach Sigi Schmid has a chip on his shoulder. 10. Chivas USA – Bob Bradley is the club's third coach in 12 months. 11. Colorado – Even heroic GK Joe Cannon can't save Rapids. 12. Real Salt Lake – Not enough improvement for 2005 weakling.
because atleast he is addressing what atleast I wanted to know. He said we have reserve championships. Therefore, the direction he thinks we are going is that we have better young players being developed than everyone else and it is a matter of time before they are ready. Maybe it is just easy to like him as a person. Maybe because he actually addresses the fans.
Murph ALWAYS: says hello when we go to practice/reserve games Thanks us for our support Brings us beer Comes to AA before almost every game to say hello to us at our tailgates..... FC DOES NOT. thats why we like him!
So he won't be due any criticism if this draft turns out to be a stinker? Oh, and somebody else was criticizing the teams' practices and how they weren't very 'soccer-related'. Well, I've been to a few practices where FC wasn't even there. Guess who was running them?
Just stop it now! In MLS, reserve championships is for losers. The Rapids have never won anything, none of the players, coaches, FO nor either ownership group gets a pass.
LOL, I never gave him a pass for that. What I was saying is that atleast that is his view of where the Rapids are. We have another coach in FC who goes and hires defense, defense, defense , but wont tell us why he doesnt fix our problems. Murphy, wrong or not, atleast said something. Do I agree? Hell no! the reserves could go away for all I care.
Heh...and so because Murphy says 'hi', he's a great coach and he gets a free pass on all matters. Hey, it could be interesting in here if Spencer is hired and Murphy is somehow retained as an assistant to frequent tailgates. There will, presumably, then be nothing to biatch about. Might wanna be careful what you wish for.
Well you are right in the sense that we still have problems if we keep parts of Clavijo's regime. I think Murphy has to run things the way FC wants him too. However, replacing FC will not solve all of our problems. There are a list of things needed to be dealt with from top to bottom.
This whole team looks like a bad remake of "Revenge of the Nerds". Unless a guy named Booger comes flying off the bench and wipes a nasty one in a defender's eye, this team will not score goals...period! The rest of the league has gotten better and this team will have to look up to find the basement.
