Still expect Stam, Lopez (Juve now trying to edge Valencia for him) and Corradi to go...

I would bet on a bunch of swap deals for Lazio...if the financial situation completely clears maybe then can buy a player or two.

Latest rumors have Lazio looking at a number of Udinese players:

    http://www.lazioworld.net/news/EpVupupEuZlbAhMaeg.html

Also, Di Canio says Lazio is yet to contact him...so he may stay in England.

Latest stories have Stam and Stankovic staying...as a condition of Mancini signing to coach next season..

Also a Corradi- Di Vaio swap with Juve....

and Beppe Signori returing on a free transfer perhaps! Lazio has also signed defender Innoccenti from Bari..

I dont think the Innocenti news is official yet. Its still kind of baseless...

    jaap!

The latest now is Stam apparently will stay on with his current contract. That is great news for sure, but I wonder how the rest of the squad handles that since they've all taken 45% cuts...

    http://www.lazioworld.net/news/EpVVFukkyZONDxwXna.html

Mancini has said the players accept this...

Other rumors have a Liverani-Ze Maria swap with Perugia...

    STAY AWAY

Is the Claudio Lopez deal really a done thing, then?

Just you stay away from our Mutu! Di Vaio could be a good option, since he started his career with you and would probably love a second chance. Player swapping is the way to go, and you offering us a bunch of midfielders (which we already have enough of) for our best player is a little silly.

Yes Lopez is gone for sure, sounds like Arsenal is trying to get involved...with Valencia always rumored...

Apparently Mutu is Mancini's #1 choice to replace Claudio.....

the last rumors I saw included a defender like Negro and Giannichedda...I would think Parma needs more than that.

We don't need more than that, we need to keep the players we have. We certainly don't need more midfielders (Giannicheda) and our back-line is going to be just fine without Negro. I don't see why we should take two cast-offs (well, they aren't bad players, but...) in exchange for our best player, especially when he's only been with us a year. All the rumors are always about who's going to steal our players. You don't here any "Parma target Fiore and Montella" rumours, do you? No, it's always "Milan want Appiah" or "Lazio target Mutu"...well I don't see why we should give them away, that's all...

well, your club has managed to walk the fine line between being competitive and a selling club..

Yes, it sucks to lose a top player or two each offseason...

But, your always at least in the UEFA Cup and the team is in solid financial shape. Trust me, financial difficulties can kill your team if not managed right....

Having said all that, if Lazio had some cash along with 2 players Parma likes...you would probably sell Mutu...

Yeah, it's a fine line. I just feel that if we could keep a few people around for another year, we could really have a good season.

And you do have CL football to off Mutu, so that's fair enough. I mean, I'm not annoyed so much with other clubs wanting our players, but it's just that all the media reports treat us like just a selling club, and sometimes it feels like the media change players minds about things. No matter how many times they here "I'm happy at the club" or "We are not selling" so-and-so, the media keep circulating rumours and all. Of well.

And the thing is, I can't see that we need the cash, because we've sold big over the last five years (Crespo, Thuram, Cannavaro, Buffon, Veron, Di Vaio--we've sold a brilliant team!) and bought low to replace them, so I can't see that we're in trouble at all. But, that CL football is a big attraction for some people...

    mutu!

well the rumors wont die and I'm betting Mutu will play for Lazio....getting a Champions League shot is a huge thing....

Parma's always in a tough spot, they seem to be in that group with Udinese and Bologna for 5-8th place or so....rarely higher or lower.

More on Mutu. See, if he goes to Juve, they could offer Di Vaio in return, which I'd be very happy with, though I'm not sure Marco would. I still think Marco would be a good signing for Lazio, as he grew up with your club. Things are still warming up, and we won't see the really hot deals until July and August. Last year, Di Vaio left after the Supercoppa, so even when you think you are safe...

I have a feeling Lazio fans know all about late player swaps after Nesta's last-minute exit last season.

    we want mutu!

it was late, but that was no player "swap" as Lazio got cash only...

things are looking strong financially now...so that shouldn't happen again...

Mutu is still the top target...He is better than Lopez IMO...

    Re: we want mutu!

Yeah, I meant swap in terms of a player swapping teams. Switch would've been a better word to use. I just know it was late because Milan waited to see if they qualified for the Champions League first. Which they did, barely.

yeah "heist" or "crime" might have been even better terms...

the fact that nesta/crespo left so late and Mancini still pulled Lazio together to have a great season says a lot about his coaching ability...

I hope Mutu nor Adriano Nor Brighi nor Ferrara go anywhere next year except to represent a fine Parma team in UEFA cup next season. Parma is a thrilling team to watch especially when the talents of Mutu and Adriano combine to produce breathtaking goals and set plays (there both sooo good at free kicks it's literally uncanny). This team just gets stronger and stronger and I predict they win UEFA cup next year (givien they don't travel to Portugal where playing conditions always seem to favour home teams). Good luck to Parma and I hope they don't sell out!

Corradi, Stam, Lopez are staying it appears...so to sum up the movement so far:

    IN
    Zauri (LB)
    Albertini and Dabo (defensive midfielders)
    Sereni (GKP)

and unless they can find a taker Mendieta comes back from Barca.

Mancini wants one more attacker, Nakata rumors don't appear to be realistic...he prefers Milan, but I dont see a fit

    OUT:
    Simeone (A. Madrid)
    D Baggio (Wolves)
    Marchegiani (Chievo)
    Pancaro (Milan)
    Chiesa (Siena)

and Favalli wants out, which is ok as Zauri probably a better and younger outside back...and Lazio is also proposing a Castroman-Contra swap with Atletico Madrid...

    What about Sorin?

Is he going back to Cruzeiro?
I've always liked him, although he didn't play as well as I hoped last year. If he stayed, where would he play, anyway?

I believe Sorin did go back to Cruzeiro, I think Lazio only had him on loan for one year with an option to buy....He always looked good for Argentina but never fit in...

I fear Fiore will go now. Someone has to be moved as Mancini is looking to add the likes of Pizarro or Nakata.

We might see one shock sale (Fiore, even Corradi?) as the team needs another striker and maybe a flank midfielder...while losing a high salary.

ehh, don't expect much out of Marco Simone...which is what we got out of Chiesa last season...

At most, he's the 4th striker behind Lopez, Corradi and Inzaghi....and yes, I'm sure Marco is coming for a low wage...

the marco simone signing fell through...no big loss for sure.

Also, Udinese shut the door on that big multi-player swap...and Mendieta to Atletico Madrid appears close.

so a million rumors and basically Lazio has the same team as last season..

One addition: Sergio Conceicao on a free after being dropped from Inter....

this move will be popular with the fans, brining back a key player from the last scudetto season...

not sure how much he has left or how he'll factor in the wide midfield positions held by Fiore and Cesar usually...he's agent seems excited:

"We have just reached an agreement with Lazio: Sergio Conceicao returns to wear the Lazio shirt!
    (calciomanager.it)

There's also talk that Lazio has agreed with Parma for Nakata, buy the player has doubts over his role at Lazio..

My guess is Lazio will do what Milan did last season - attempt to qualify for the CL with this squad and, if they make it, then they'll shell out some more Euros for a key acqusition or two. Easier said than done, however, against Benfica ...
