El holandés aceptó dirigir a las Águilas

Beenhaker dio el sí al América



La noticia se confirmó ayer, en el viejo continente.- El contrato se extendería por tres años.- Abreu, el primer refuerzo; Leo

traerá cuando menos dos europeos.

Se acabó el misterio.

América tiene nuevo técnico.

Y no es otro que el holandés Leo Beenhakker, hasta hace unos días, director deportivo del Ajax.

Fiel a su costumbre, Javier Pérez Teuffer, presidente del América había querido desviar las Ôbaterías´ hacia otros candidatos, incluso, con entrevistas manejadas, y pidió a ESTO "déjenme hacer mi trabajo".

El caso es que Leo se comprometió con las Águilas para ser su director técnico, durante los próximos tres años, y si no llegó ayer mismo, lo haría en los próximos días.

Se acaba así el Ômisterio´.

Cabe aclarar que el ofrecimiento inicial del América, ascendía a dos millones de dólares por una temporada completa, es decir, dos torneos cortos.


EL PRIMERO

Por lo pronto, apunte usted que el primer refuerzo del América, para la próxima campaña es Sebastián "Loco" Abreu, quien la campaña que está por terminar, jugara para el Cruz Azul, y actualmente lo hace con el Nacional de Uruguay.

Pero no será el único refuerzo, pues es intención de Leo traer un par de jugadores europeos; uno de ellos, defensa central.

Así las cosas, América inicia su segunda etapa con Leo Beenhakker al frente de la dirección técnica.

¿El anuncio oficial?

Pérez Teuffer había anunciado una conferencia de prensa para mañana lunes, pero como nos adelantamos, cualquier cosa puede suceder.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, México, jun. 02, 2003.- Leo Beenhakker, entrenador americanista en la campaña 94-95, aceptó regresar al Nido de Coapa.

"No podía rechazar el ofrecimiento que me hizo el América. Primero, porque se trata de una revancha y porque me concedieron todas mis peticiones", dijo en sus primeras declaraciones desde Holanda, en clara alusión a la destitución que sufrió hace ocho años, además, aseguró que lo complacieron en todas sus peticiones.

El holandés piensa viajar a África para contratar a dos refuerzos, como lo hiciera con Fancois Omam Biyik y Kalusha Bwalya. Otro elemento que le interesa es el uruguayo Sebastián Abreu, ex jugador de Tecos y Cruz Azul.

Beenhakker planeó que estos refuerzos releven a tres extranjeros de los cinco que actúan en las Águilas, y que son el colombiano Frankie Oviedo, el argentino Hugo Norberto Castillo, el chileno Ricardo Rojas, el uruguayo Marcelo Lipatín y el brasileño Delvi da Costa.

Javier Pérez Teuffer, presidente del club, declaró que se trata de alguien a quien la afición del América recuerda con cariño.

1.5 Ricardo Rojas (Davino is hurt. Beltran is being mentioned as well as another Euro, but Rojas is there and he is a national team player for his country so he has that in his favor)

3 Hugo Castillo (his passing may be the only thing that keeps him there.. thats if they get Abreu or some other top noth forward. His lack of speed may work against him)

3 Oviedo (his lack of speed will work agains him. Has good passing)

5 Lipatin cant pass for shyt nor can he score for shyt.

but they say Leo will watch every game last season and grade every player... THe foreigners were way too inconsistant. Davino's injury is working in favor of Rojas.. but Rojas had a couple bad games that cost us some points.

 

I am glad he is not bringing in his set of coaches. I am glad he is willing to work with America's coaching staff. Chepo de la torre can learn alot from Leo... Leo has coached Real MAdrid, Ajax, Zaragoza, Dutch National team... and some other turkish teams...

I just hope Leo does give the youngsters some playing time. Leo likes fast explosive type players... I think he will find those qualities in Santiago Fernandez and Paco Torres...

Beenhakker, a terminar lo que inició

ESTA mañana, muy tempranito, Leo Beenhakker ofrecerá una video conferencia desde Europa, donde hablará de su nuevo reto, que es volver a dirigir al América.

En la conferencia, que se realizará por los rumbos de Televisa Chapultepec, también estará el presidente de los cremas, Javier Pérez Teuffer.

Beenhakker, quien el sábado firmó por tres años con el equipo crema, no tiene fecha, aún, para llegar a México.

El holandés se quedará en Europa para planear su estrategia. Se dice que tiene en el bolsillo traer de nuevo, a dos refuerzos africanos -como lo hizo en aquel 1994, cuando trajo a Oman Biyik y Kalusha-. Las posiciones aún no se saben, pero una de ellas, con seguridad, será un defensa central.


CÓMO LLEGÓ


Nos remontamos a 1994.

América no tiene técnico y se barajan infinidad de candidatos.

El 7 de mayo de 1994 se oye que Emilio Díez Barroso, entonces presidente crema, está en Europa. Quiere refuerzos y técnico. Por primera vez el nombre de Leo Beenhakker suena. Junto a él también Francisco Maturana y Arturo Salah.

La comedia crema se hizo larga. Infinidad de rumores se oyeron.

El 17 de mayo el nombre de Maturana cobra mayor fuerza. Se dice que con él vendría Carlos "Pibe" Valderrama.

Mas la directiva americanista nada confirma.

Se sueltan más nombres. El del croata Mirko Jozic.

El 30 de mayo trasciende que Beenhakker acepta el cargo.

Pero nada se confirma.

El 14 de junio se confirma... Leo Beenhakker es el técnico del América.

El 15 llega a México: "Vengo cargado de ilusiones y hacer un buen papel. Tengo conocimiento que el club América es de prestigio"...


EL ADIÓS


El 6 de abril de 1995, mediante un comunicado, el club América da a conocer lo siguiente:

"Por este conducto, la directiva del club de futbol América comunica que el día de hoy ha rescindido el contrato con el señor Leo Beenhakker.

Por lo tanto el señor Beenhakker ha quedado desligado del club América".

Sus números al frente de la escuadra crema fueron:

31 partidos; 18 victorias, nueve empates y cuatro derrotas.

Sumó 45 puntos. Al momento de dejar al equipo era líder general.


¿POR QUÉ?


En torno a la salida de Beenhakker se formaron muchas versiones...

Las primeras se inclinaron a que surgieron fricciones con los altos dirigentes del equipo -Emilio Díez Barroso y Panchito Hernández-.

Otra es que después de un juego, Beenhakker prohibió la entrada de un alto directivo al vestidor del equipo.

Unas más.. que le quisieran imponer alineaciones.

También se dijo que el holandés en reiteradas ocasiones criticó el nivel del futbol mexicano y tuvo fricciones con jugadores líderes del grupo, como Luis Roberto Alves.

Al final de cuentas, todo quedó y quedará en el misterio.

Lo cierto es que Beenhakker está de regreso.

Do you still think it was a joke or a bad mistake on behalf of the Ameri**** execs to go after him? Leo left because he knows a good thing when he sees it. From what I hear (dont have exact numbers or the most reliable source), Chivas actually offered more money to Leo per year.

3 years is a good committment

I really like they way Javier Perez Tueffer handled this matter. He did it very professionaly and discrete.

HE gave Lapuente the respect he deserved and released him in a professional manner. He didnt promise anything nor did he go out and say we are going to go get the very best coach in the world and turn it into a soap opera. He said his intentions were to get the best coach that suited America. He was never specific on the date of the announcement at first. He said they were going to try to get one in a weeks worth, but that they still have to talk and interview and anything could happen soon and they he would inform the press as soon as they had one.. When the week passed, he apologized to the press for not announcing a coach... but did throw out some names..

Chivas offered more money. I do remember they said that he could bring whomever he wanted (coaching staff) and were also going to give him all these great benefits.. He is not doing that with America

He also has been head hunted by other top Euro clubs the past 3 years. He has been a GM type with Ajax for the past 2-3 years.

Sure he is going to make money with America. H3ll, if Tecos was able to afford Ruggeri @ 62 K a month..its safe to say Leo will make in the 130-140K range per month, plus visits to Holland and his family.

Lets clear up some facts.

First Chivas offered him a five year contract same as they did with the other candidates (Bianchi) in that sense we can say he was offered more money by Club Deportivo Guadalajara A.S..

If you look at my prior post.. I said that Chivas offered more per year... how do I know this... I heard the interview with Perez Tueffer. He said that the other owner (meaning Vergara) came in with more money.. but it was not about more money since they are trying to watch where every cent goes to. He said that even Real Madrid is sarting to do that.

Second he was offered the position of General Manager not Coach,

I recall hearing Vergara say they were trying to get him as a coach. He threw out all these random names.

it is clear that he wants to coach again. All in all i doubt he is in it for the Money but im also quite sure he will make bank but then again he is a World Class coach IMHO..

If he was solely in it for the money.. he would have stayed in Ajax or in Europe for that matter.

 

its obvious that he had to leave holland, he just divorced his wife and said he wanted to get away from there and americrap offered a good contract and an all expenses payed vacation.
