Dude, your moderating ways are interesting. Especially since I just started a thread like this yesterday.
Todd, this one is all my fault. I tried to merge them and they wouldn't cooperate. I am stuck in IE6 hell at work and it doesn't like BigSoccer on complicated merges.
No worries, Bryan! I knew it was an error related to the merging. I myself was getting confused with all of the player threads being created, and then not working. No chance for installing Firefox there?
I wouldn't be surprised if DC exposed Emilio, Gomez, and Fred. For a significant salary reduction they would be serviceable for the team.
And a lot of fans are calling for it. There are a few guys on that team I'd take in a heartbeart. Despite Josh Wicks' actions tonight, he's one hell of a keeper and I'd love to see him in navy and gold. Makes great reactionary saves, positions himself well, etc. I always say the best way to build a starting XI is to get yourself a keeper and work your way forward. Also, Chris Pontius is going to be a great player in this league too. Would love to have him.
They can keep Fred though, when he's hot, he's impressive. But when he's not feeling it he couldn't defend a child. Didn't matter where they put him last night, he was getting worked over. Im still holding out hope that they let Simms slip through their fingers.
I just want to completely ditto this. Fred is popular with the DCU fans but I've never been impressed by him. I do like Simms.
Any thoughts on bringing in Heath Pearce? Looks like his deal to Bursaspor just fell through. I think he'd be a nice piece to the backline, solid guy, with alot to prove in an effort to grab a WC2010 spot. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2009/09/heath-pearce-transfer-falls-through.html
Just doing a drive by. Here are the rules for last year's expansion draft: http://web.mlsnet.com/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20081024&content_id=198758&vkey=pr_mls&fext=.jsp This year's expansion draft should be relatively similar, but there will probably be some tweaks as per usual.
Starting with the Union will be too late for him to prove anything to Bradley; the squad will be pretty well set by April. If he's worried about that, he'll take whatever he can get in Europe this winter.
Answer to question #1 is NOW!!! By this time last year, Sounders had Le Toux and Keller signed and were 2 days away from signing Designated Player Ljungberg. As to question #2, I say we just start signing all of Chelsea.
