I wouldn't be surprised if DC exposed Emilio, Gomez, and Fred. For a significant salary reduction they would be serviceable for the team.

 

I would take Emilio in a heartbeat, no matter his age.

 

And a lot of fans are calling for it. There are a few guys on that team I'd take in a heartbeart. Despite Josh Wicks' actions tonight, he's one hell of a keeper and I'd love to see him in navy and gold. Makes great reactionary saves, positions himself well, etc. I always say the best way to build a starting XI is to get yourself a keeper and work your way forward.

Also, Chris Pontius is going to be a great player in this league too. Would love to have him.

 

Is Bill Hamid automatically protected as a developmental player?

 

Not exactly sure how those rules work.

 

They can keep Fred though, when he's hot, he's impressive. But when he's not feeling it he couldn't defend a child. Didn't matter where they put him last night, he was getting worked over.

Im still holding out hope that they let Simms slip through their fingers.

 

I've seen reports that Hamid signed a GenAd deal. If true, he'd obviously be protected.

 

He was embarrassingly bad against Harrisburg in the Open Cup.

 

I just want to completely ditto this. Fred is popular with the DCU fans but I've never been impressed by him. I do like Simms.

 

When can the union start signing players? Any top players rumored to come?

Any thoughts on bringing in Heath Pearce? Looks like his deal to Bursaspor just fell through. I think he'd be a nice piece to the backline, solid guy, with alot to prove in an effort to grab a WC2010 spot.

This year's expansion draft should be relatively similar, but there will probably be some tweaks as per usual.

 

Starting with the Union will be too late for him to prove anything to Bradley; the squad will be pretty well set by April. If he's worried about that, he'll take whatever he can get in Europe this winter.
