    Soma Kanda/Shiogai were revelations, hopefully they can fulfill their potential and add to Japan's striker/CF depth.

    Ogura is a workhouse, hopefully he can be Japan's Kante in the future.

    Pity that Sato/Yasuda could not stay foe entire tournament, they might possibly add something to Japan in the later games.

    Don't think Shiogai was a revelation, he was already the best player last year in Toulon and had confirmed itself in Dusseldorf
    Kanda did ok but I didn't see anything groundbreaking

    Well considering that Japan finished fifth with this U19 squad as opposed to 9th last year with a U20 squad, I believe that it is still revelation to a certain extent.

    If Japan performed the same as last year, I doubt the praises would be as much as currently for the players.

    Yes but you're focusing on the "best XI" that was posted. You are totally right that the tournament owners tend to recognize players from the team who performed best.
    I only meant that any scout paying attention to the japanese team from last year would've noticed him already :)
