So, I haven't had the time to open it but it's important.
Japan qualified to this competition one year ago.

Due to the EAFF, it was postponed to 2014.
This year, the competition is worthless, but it will be Teguramori's first test.

The next one, set in 2016, will be used to qualify for the next Olympics.
What's the difference from before? Well, it's completely different, unfortunately.

Here's how it was for London: as you can see despite our embarassing loss against Syria, all we had to do was still being able to top a group. This time? Not so much. Now it has become a direct elimination competition. Unless the format changes in 2015, top 4 goes to the Olympics. This sucks, because if we meet the likes of South Korea orUzbekistan immediately after the pools, one of these (or us) will be out.

Next, Teguramori has announced the player's list for january.

I'm indeed not sure why he wasn't called up, but I guess it's because he's actually a given when it will really matter

And not the best young player of J-League ? lol

    He has forgotten Gakuto Notsuda.
Too bad he can't select Yuya Kubo and Iwanami.

This team is quite young for a U22 team. Everybody is born in 93 or 94, while players born in 92 would be accepted. We obviously prepare Olympic Games 2016.

Whatever. Can't care about this kind of stuff unfortunately. I can for U-15 until U-19. Those from 93 and 94 only after the qualifiers will start. If they will lose no mercy for them.

Anyone watch Tsubasa Shibuya of Yokohama FC this year? Only 18 and started their last 3 games only conceding 1 goal with 2 clean sheets.

Seeing how he's the only other eligible goal keeper besides Kushibiki who has played in either J1 or J2, I'm interested to know how he's done. Kushibiki has a long way to go in my opinion. I would not be surprised to see him lose his starting spot next season.

Australia hasn't got any chance of progressing through to the knock out stages. Japan v Iran (which I'm looking forward to) seems to be the match that will likely determined top spot in Group C. Well we do need to beat Kuwait first up (who are pretty decent) to even have a sniff at Iran the following match.

This will be a fun preview of Teguramori's J3 U-21s. Obviously the better kids will drop out during the season as they'll be needed by their respective clubs, but we might see some bits and pieces of his team concept.

surprised this is even a thing.

not so much the competition format but having one that doesn't count for anything.

Bad news : Wataru Endo and Ryota Oshima out.

    http://www.jfa.or.jp/national_team/topics/2013/717.html

So, we'll have a (very) young team with only players born in 93 or 94, and moreover, most of the best of them (Kubo, Minamino, Notsuda, Iwanami, Endo, Oshima) will be absent.

Can we win this tournament ? :D I know that the result is not so important because we'll just make a preparation for the olympics games of 2016 but I would have prefered that we start to prepare with most of our best players.

Mature is a good word to define him. He's physically very well built and he hasn't made any mistake so far. He certainly looks more confident than Kushibiki.

Tune-up scrimmage prior to the opening match versus Iran. Takuma Asano (Hiroshima) scored in the 1st half while Takuma Arano (Sapporo) scored twice in the second half. Teguramori was pleased at how well the team executed against a team with 5 full Omani internationals in a 4-4-2 formation imported from Vegalta.
