This from a few years ago was one of the best jerseys ever in any sport... the only baseball jersey I own.
I prefer their 80s uniforms, but any time Oakland wears their gold jersey is a good day. Easily the best in current MLB, only bested by the 80s Astros jersey, which is the platonic ideal of a baseball uniform. I do always enjoy the cross promotion stuff they do with the other teams. I want to say that the A's had a Quakes night at the Coliseum this year early on, or there was some special mention of them. Although considering the teams are owned by the same person, they don't do nearly as much cross promotion as you'd think they would. Of course, that could be because lots of baseball folks actively dislike soccer, for reasons I will never understand. I hope Profar finds his stride the way that Thompson has. He's really struggling right now.
was the quakes cap in a's colorway released at avaya? I have one but i can't remember when/where i got it. too old now I guess. my sister got the quakes/a's scarf given out at the coliseum, so that's two cross promotion stuff for sure. i really like Profar. I remember him during the LLWS. His Curacao team was defending champions and they went up against the Hawaiʻi team from my hometown. We won that year, but Profar was such a beast, Iʻm glad he made the big leagues here.
Probably. I haven't attended any Quakes nights at the Coliseum in person, I mostly just remember it being mentioned on the broadcast. I didn't realize he was on that Curacao team until very recently, actually. I like the guy a lot as a personality. Unfortunately, he's been the worst performing A this year, so I'm hoping he can start being a bit better at the plate. To not derail this too much further, I will try to bring it back on track and ponder about how they decide who's going to participate in these cross promos. Thompson has been a marketing gold mine for the Quakes since the beginning, even when Kinnear had banished him to development hell, so that's no real surprise, I guess. I don't know much about that side of the game, actually. I'd guess that there are some things built into player contracts, like you'll do certain types of appearances, etc. My hope would be that players get a little extra money for making themselves available for that type of stuff, too.
At least in the past, players on the lower tier of the salary table were able to supplement their income by doing these sorts of appearances, and in the absence of any change I am aware of, I suspect it still is.
It’s all good now. @tomthom11 of the @SJEarthquakes can order for the entire table when the team goes out to a Mexican restaurant! 🌯 // Listen to the full episode here: https://t.co/JQXTBvMUDr pic.twitter.com/o1eOprEFoo— The Cooligans (@SoccerCooligans) September 5, 2019
Here's a link to Tommy's go-to Mexican restaurant in San Jose, as alluded to in the tweet above. It is, indeed, excellent. https://www.lunamexicankitchen.com/
Luna Mexican Kitchen Clean. Authentic.Local Unless that's their What3Words location, do you really need to advertise that you are clean? It's something I generally expect.

Heck, if his career follows Wondo, he won't even be in his prime for another three years at his first career! It's funny, it seems like forever we've been speculating on when/if Tommy is going to fulfill his big promise. It's amazing to realize he's only 24!
So he can hit a 2' diameter rim over the backboard, but he can't put a ball into a regulation soccer net....hmmmm.
last year when I saw Tommy in person at some event, I noticed he no longer looked 14, but actually quite a bit older than 24.
I thought he was okay. Was there a particular play that stood out? I thought Jackson was the bigger danger, his turnovers were killer. But nothing that I thought should change plans, just early-season bumps in the road.
He seemed to be getting burned on the counterattacks. Luckily TFC sucked worse. He wasn’t subbed out because he was doing well.
I thought he was subbed because he had a yellow and he was tiring. The yellow, BTW, was well used. I thought his judgement was good, any coach would trade that yellow to end that threat.
