    Seconded...

Fun match, great athmosphere. It was a pleasure meeting up with the old gang and the new faces. Impressive for a day game, which will the only one this season.

For an expansion outfit, they look ready to compete.

(and keep checking for more from today's revelry... ;) )

Yeah they looked better today but that wasn't the true starting 11 so next Saturday will really tell the story.

    Awesome to have this forum!

It was a great atmosphere and I'm definately looking forward to the first "real" game next week!

I guess the un-official name could always be the "Kezar Boozers"!

    Got room for another?

I'll be at the match next week and bringing along at least 2 others, possibly 4.

So it looks like we got a name, any ideas for a banner or logo?

Soccer in the city. Great Weather. Fair Crowd. I didn't expect food concessions but we had em. Limited merchandise but all things considered a good effort by the franchise to create a fun atmosphere to watch a game in.
1906'ers making noise. Should be a fun season. I am glad it is finally here. Thank you to all those whom made it happen and are making it happen.

To be honest, I'm just not into anything Earthquake(s) been there done that. I was thinking maybe one of those short Roman swords with "1906" on the blade, maybe that huge radio tower on the hill behind Kezar. or just the simple City skyline. The more that we can get this team identified with SF the better.

We spoke to some people from the Victory after the game, they are going to try and get a sponsor to spring for the banner so we'll see. The section we sit in has been named the fault line so who knows which way the banner will go.

"Fault Line", If they have Tremor girls at the next match, the half time entertainment will feature me shooting myself in the head!

I second this. This isn't the Earthquakes redux, and they have no association to the now defunct club other than sharing a few supporters.

Seriously though, that name wasn't reached by commite, but by coup d'etat. Still, no complaining now, thats what it is. Thanks Capt. Morgan, and BrendanOakland.

The name is fine, but lets just try and keep the association with the other team at a minimum.

I would agree the Victory are our team and the earthquakes until further notice are a memory.

    REEEEEAallly?

I'm so glad that we have this subforum finally. I have pics, but not uploaded yet.

I think people know how I feel about the name. Whatever it may be, though, I will still bleed blue and support our boys with everything.

Is there even any more negotiation? It wasn't officially mentioned in the Chronicle.

I don't care what we call it if there is a consensus on changing it I support it if it sticks I support it. But I do like 1906.

Hey yo! Fun match yesterday, y'all were in great voice! I'll add mine the next time. No matter what it's called, I'll join the Crew!

I totally agree with this too. Personally I don't think of 1906 as a reference to the EQ's at all (initially it didn't even dawn on me) , rather than a reflection of this City's history and something uniquely San Francisco.

The supporters group did a great job yesterday. I was on the opposite side where most of the crowd was, but I could hear the chants clearly. The timing before the goal was great as well. A drum would really enhance the atmosphere in the supporters section. I do not care for the 1906 reference though. I would prefer something with the gladiator theme that Yuri suggested. IMHO, I like something along the line of The Victory Arena or The Victorians, or The Legion, etc. But whatever the name, I hope that the fans will embrace this team and that support will grow as the season continues.
