Tacoma FC opened it's first ever PDL campaign this weekend with matches on Friday and Saturday night.

    May 12 Tacoma 0 Abbotsford 0
Listen to the match on GuerrillaFootball.com

Friday Tacoma hosted Abbotsford Rangers and looked the better of the two sides. They were cohesive and organized, remarkably so for a team that had only trained together three times. Abbotsford was content to sit back behind the ball and rely on the counter-attack to try for the result. they were unsuccessfull. Tacoma had the majority of the chances and had a goal by Andy Willis called back after a dubious handball call. Willis had several other chances but was unable to convert. Lee Williams was stellar in defense for Tacoma, making sure that Abbotsford made very little progress in the offensive zone. Tacoma would be justified to feel hard done by a 0-0 result from a match that saw them look to be the better side through the majority of play.

    Saturday Tacoma 0 Cascade 1

If Tacoma allowed themselves to feel hard done Friday night, then certainly they would feel even worse off Saturday after losing a match they dominated to the Cascade Surge. An early defensive lapse led to Cascades goal. tacoma controlled play for the rest of the match and out shot Cascade 13-3. A bit of fatigue set in late in the match and Tacoma could not overcome their mistake.

Tacoma's Next match is at Home on May 20th against the Yakima Reds. For tickets and info visit www.tacomafc.com

    Tacoma 0:0 BYU

We'll have photos from Jenni and a write-up coming soon.

Another spirited match for Tacoma, who have played 5 home matches now without a win----they have four draws and a loss.

BYU leads the division and is annually one of the stronger teams in the PDL. Tacoma held on for the draw after a late-late BYU push saw two posts hit, and several shots go just high.

Biggest TFC home crowd to date, on a windy but sunny night. Plenty of back and forth between FC and BYU supporters.

So glad I saw this thread, I've been meaning to make it out to a game all season but I've been too damn lazy, I'll definitely be out for the next home game!

What happens when a photographer's two favorite clubs play EACH OTHER? A gallery with 164 photos, of course! Cheers to Jenni for her best gallery yet this season!
