Oman are scheduled to play two friendly games at home on February 6 and 14 before they open their campaign against the hosts UAE on February 22. Among the teams short-listed for friendly are Syria and Singapore but a final decision would be taken shortly. Meanwhile, Oman Football Association (OFA) General Secretary Fahd Abdullah al Raisi said: “It is a tough draw but we are hopeful of making it into the finals.” http://www.omanobserver.com/ Anybody who know something about a Oman- Syria match in February ?
Nothing yet, but our last result against them was a 3-1 victory in the WAG which we got silver in. I think the last time we played in the same group in qualifiers was in WCQ2002 when we tied at home 3-3 and lost 2-0 in Oman.
Syria was pretty awesome at the World Cup U-20s... Beat Italy and Canada... nearly took down Brazil in the quarters... Majed Al-Haj is an amazing player... I think he plays for Al-Jaish.
They tied Canada in thier opener scoring in the 2nd minute and concedeing late in the 2nd half. Yes Brazil scored on us once and it was a PK. Majed is good when he is playing with his fellow u-20s, but for Al-Jaish I think he sucks ass, too much of a show off, dribbles too much for his own good, ends up losing the ball or taking a wild shot.
Matchday 13 of the league and Al-Jaish are still on top after drawing with champs Ittihad. Al-Karama was on fire as usual beating Hottain 4-0. Al-Wahda also won with a single goal against low Al-Jehad. The top 4 remain: Al-Jaish Al-Karama Ittihad Al-Wahda
It is now official, Jihad Al-Hussain is Al-Kuwait SC player, he may play in tommorows match against Kazma. good luck to him in his new team
Thx for your contribution ya Basha So do you have any details?? And a source if you may Wow, this makes 4 Syrians playing in Kuwait: Firas Al-Khateeb/Rajaa Rafee(Al-Arabi) Ahmad Al-Omaier(Al-Fahaheel) Jihad Al-Husein(Kuwait SC) Best of luck to them and now lets try to shoot for Europe.
50 % chance to qualify to the finals say Syrian coach http://www.footballasia.com/en/comps/asiancup/index.asp?id=42161&cid=1231&mth=1&yr=2006
Syrian internationals Firas Al-Khateeb and Rajaa Rafee score 1 goal each as their club Al-Arabi of Kuwait wins 4-0.
Syria will clash with Palestine in a friendly on February 7 in Aleppo City before playing Saudi Arabia on February 15 in Damascus. http://www.the-afc.com/english/media/default.asp?mnsection=media§ion=newsDetails&newsID=4875
we will help syria to kick koreas azz and make it 2 second round..east asians cant play the game of football..hahaha
I love Syria, I have a lot of Syrian friends I don't support nay club, but my heart with Syria NT. so I hope you guys do well and qualify to the Asian Cup. I have faith in you.
Last week Syrian international Ahmad Omair scored a hattrick for his club Al-Fahaheel in Kuwait. This week Firas Al-Khateeb and Rajaa Rafee, both scored in Al-Arabi's 3-0 win.
Not really, but on the other hand maybe. Both teams did not play with full strangth. Most Bahraini number ones are busy with thier seasons in Qatar and Kuwait. And most Syrians number ones werent even called up and our 4 best players play in Kuwait. So I guess it was an even match.
Looking forward to that February 7th Match Palestine-Syria... I think the last time we played it was a 1-1 draw. Hopefully we'll be seeing you again at the 2007 Asian Cup. SOOOOORIYA YAAAAMMMMMMMO!
