We need to beat the UAE 4/5-0 in the UAE.

    Consider it done. :D

Sorry, its only a 3-0. Pretty tough both ways, but not impossible.

Syrian team is unlucky as you encountered Iranian and Kuwaiti in their best

performation. You are obviously better than UAE. But you are eliminated. This

    is football !!

No, when Syria was winning 2-0 and about to score a 3rd, all of a sudden half of the stadium lights went out. This kinda disrupted the flow of the game. Im ALMOST sure this was done intentionally. Any way, game is over. Until 2011. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if they did it intentionally. Nothing new for UAE and Qatar.

Good luck to Syria, they played well and deserved it a lot more than UAE, too bad we scored a second goal to you guys in injury time..

    Todays results:

    Al Majd 2-1 Al Wahda
    Al Shorta 1-0 Al Nawaeir
    Efrin 0-1 Al Karama

That leaves the top half standings at:

    1. Al Karama PTS 63
    2. Al Majd 51
    3. Al Ittihad 50
    4. Al Taliya 43

Al Karama have booked the AFC Champions League Qualifying spot where they could come up against Al Gharafa of Qatar, Kurvachi or Pakaktor of Uzbekistan and at a gamble, the AFC 2008 winners/runners up which could be Al Muharraq of Bahrain, Al Nahda of Oman or Safa of Lebanon.

Although a long way away, how do you think Al Karama will fair against these teams they could face?

I've just been looking at the final standings for the Syrian Premier League.

It seems the league has two tiers, or possibly even three.

    Look at this:

Al Karama - run away winners - possibly in a tier of there own at the moment

and then break the league down, we have places 2 to 6 with the following clubs:

    • Al Majd
    • Al Ittihad
    • Al Taliya
    • Al Jaish
    • Al Futowa
After these 5 clubs, we have a huge gap down to the second tier of the league.

It would seem to an outsider, like myself, that the league looks like two leagues in one. We have the top half finishers who probably constantly finish in the top half, and the lower league boys who are always fighting for survival.

There's just such a huge berth.

Would it be more radical if the FA created the league and split it into two after so many rounds, like moving the top 6 after the 26 game round, into a group of their own to fight for the championship?

It just seems, like the winners, in this instance, Al Karama, don't have to take their foot of the peddle. They can easily overcome the majorty of teams, whereas, if they got moved into a championship pool at the end of the season, there would be more pressure, and more intense games, thus giving the fans more end of season excitment, and giving the best clubs better opposition.

The same could be done for the lower half of the season, for example, again Al Horriya who cam bottom could playe another 6 to 8 games against teams at there same level and put up an end of season fight rather than trying in vain against Al Ittihad or Al Karama and losing the game that 9 times out of 10 they have lost before they start.

What do you guys think who follow the league more closly than myself?

I don't know it's like the end of the world that we missed the final round of the WCQ ,it has been a mess since then.

Yes according to syrian-soccer.com our FA will send a letter on Saturday to apologize for the WAFF.
I think it's because Kwid resigned.
