Syria Cup results: Round of 16: Hutteen - Al-Nawaeir 3-0 Al-Futowah - Jablah 1-2 Al-Jaish - Al-Neddal 1-0 Efrin - Al-Wahda 2-0 Al-Shabab - Al-Karamah 2-2 Al-Taleiah - Al-Ittihad 3-3 Al-Qrdaha - Tishreen 1-3 Inshaallah Al-Ittihad can win then at home,I am very optimistic.Al-Neddal ,who kicked out Al-Shorta (a team which plays in the 1 st Division),can win at home against Al-Jaish.Al-Karamah ,who was leading 2-0 away,held it on a draw ,after Al-Shabab scored 2 goals in the last 3 minutes.Efrin has beaten Al-Wahda 2-0,and this is good for their away match.We have many surprises here,that is very interesting ,who will win this year.That is more interesting than our League,I guess.
Mohammed Kwid is our new NT coach. He will also stay in charge of Al Karamah. القويض مدرباً لمنتخب سورية
He will make it better than Fajer,I am sure.He is better than Cabrini. Good Luck to us.That means the Oman match will be his first match,Inshaallah? And thanks bro for information.
Syria turn to Kwid DAMASCUS: Al Karama coach Mohamed Kwid was appointed as the new coach of Syria on Monday. Kwid, who shot into the limelight after leading unfashionable Al Karama into the AFC Champions League final in 2006, will continue to coach the Homs-based outfit besides steering the national side for the rest of their 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. Kwid's predecessor Fajr Ibrahim was sacked after the Syrians eked out feeble draws against Iran (0-0) and UAE (1-1) in the first two 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Kwid's first competitive test as national team coach comes on June 2 when Syria face Kuwait on Match Day 3 of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Group 5 where they are languishing in third spot with two points behind leaders UAE (four points) and Iran (two). Kuwait bring up the rear in this group with one point.
Fixtures of the Syrian National Team: With Kwid.... 10.5 Syria-Oman 17.5 Syria-Iraq 24.5 Saudi -Arabia-Syria 2.6 Syria-Kuwait 8.6 Kuwait-Syria 14.6 Syria-Iran 22.6 VAE-Syria 20.8 Venezuela-Syria Good Luck to us and Mohammad Kwid and to our team,inshaallah.Maybe there will be some more matches.
I'm looking forward to the matches under Mohammed Kwid. Although i'm not Syrian and have no connections whatsoever, i see this guy as one of the leading coaches in Asia and possibly currently the best coach in Arab Asia at least at the moment. Hope Syria continue to prove the doubters on this forum wrong and go from strength to strength

But he wont play with us ,he played in January in the swedish national team against Costa Rica. But I think this players here of us are really good.
Yes,of course brother, but I think we don´t need him.A real Syrian would come without calling from another country.Important is that Sanharib came, that is great. And I don´t think Louay would change from swedish team to syrian, whether friendly or not. But of course you are right.
Ambitious Syria counts on Kwid 1.5.2008 http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=757007.html#ambitious+syria+count+kwid Syria may have made little impression on the continental stage, but they took plenty of ambition into the AFC's third qualifying round for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. But rather than take satisfaction from draws against Iran and United Arab Emirates - the two favourites to advance from Group 5 - which left them in a strong position to realise their objective, the South-West Asians decided a change was needed. A goalless draw in Iran on 6 February had been met by smiles by the Syrians, and a 1-1 stalemate with UAE in their second outing left them well on track to progress ahead of their remaining four games, two of which will be played against section outsiders Kuwait. Being held on home soil, however, was to cost coach Ebrahim Fajer his job, and it is Mohamed Kwid who now has the task of guiding the side into Asia's final ten. Kwid is no stranger to Syrian supporters. After leading the unfancied Al Karama to the silver medal on their debut in the AFC Champions League in 2006, his popularity soared and the Homs-based club have since continued to excel in both domestic and continental competition. Al Karama's defeat of Al Majd on Sunday left them needing just one win from their remaining four matches to claim a seventh - and third consecutive - Syrian Championship. Meanwhile, victory over Al Wahda in their penultimate Group C fixture on 7 May will send them through to the last eight of the Champions League 2008. Twin targets Due to these considerable achievements, the Syrian Football Association have allowed Kwid to combine the national team role with his Al Karama duties, making him the third man in Asia to work on club and country fronts simultaneously following Iran and Saipa tactician Ali Daei, and Rodion Gacanin, who operates the Kuwait and Al Kuwait controls. Since coaches Daei and Gacanin have been doing well with both jobs, I think I can at least follow the examples set by my Asian counterparts Mohamed Kwid after becoming the third man to coach a club and country simultaneously in Asia " Since coaches Daei and Gacanin have been doing well with both jobs, I think I can at least follow the examples set by my Asian counterparts," Kwid said. "I am grateful for this appointment as it is always a great honor to serve your country. And I also thank the club for their massive support in allowing me to take on this double duty." Kwid's first test in charge of Syria comes on 2 June, when his charges play Kuwait away knowing that victory will move them into the top two places in Group 5. "The priorities are enhancing the team's self-esteem and fighting spirit," added the gaffer, whose Al Karama side stunned the likes of two-time Asian kings Al Ittihad and Al-Qadisya en route to the Champions League final in 2006. "Every game will be decisive for us and we have to feel strong again our opponents. Although we are in the primary stage of football professionalism we are happy to see the good progress made by the clubs, which has brought about positive changes at national team level. We believe we will be able to break new ground as long as this momentum keeps going," Kwid concluded.
