Btw, I'm not sure how or why exactly, but I blame Hal for my mistake of picking Shevchenko at #2.

 

Tough week for the captains so far.
Summary: Henry 2, Terry 5, Cahill 1, Lampard 2, Gerrard 2; all doubled of course.

And the Terry 5 may have come with a price. JT is being checked for whip-lash. Agbonlahor went by him so fast in the second half that all he could do was turn his head and watch. May have caused a strain ..... or at least he should be embarassed so that is what the story will say.

Memo to JT: Stay in the middle son, those boys on the outside are too fast for you.

Back to the captains. Open for Sunday/Monday play are Rooney, Ronaldo and Gamst. Conflicted a bit as I have Ronaldo as my captain in the free-for-all league. Not that I would ever find joy in the failure of my competitors.

This just in from Mrs. Powell's kitchen. A spy has caught our mother in the act of making cookies for Mrs. Young to ship to her Ashley. Just what was in the cookies hasn't been determined, but the trash-can filled with 'Acme Home Human Growth Hormone and Racehorse Booster Kit' is a hint. That and Ashley's 18 points today. Hmmph! I always knew mom liked me second best.

 

This has gone by crazy, past unbelievable and now officially qualifies as STUPID LUCK.

Young is one of those that someone, I think it was Clan, used to beat our brains in the FFLO last year, so he is something of a known quantity. He and King are the real deal. And Francis is no slouch.

(I have missed King twice now. Do not give me a third chance.)

But for Young to score 18 in the FPL. STUPID LUCK.

Clan Blue has Young, as captain, and King, among others for a 79.

 

With Chelsea Goaltenders falling all around, I chose to calmly chase a talented but young guy with the newly defensive-minded Manchester City. MC has a great upcoming schedule from which they should produce several 0-0 matches. I don't have to watch, I have to score fantasy points. Actually thought bro had him, but he apparently gave up.

The way Bolton is playing I am willing to bet that Meite gets more points than Ballack. But you don't care. Points are points, right!

I keep thinking that Diouf needs to be picked up. But then he does something stupid and I remember who we are dealing with. Does anyone go down easier than Diouf? This guy falls down when the peanut vendor walks by.

From where we all cluster in the middle of the pack, we can hardly see the Norman Craig Powell express as it roars on past Pahrump. But we have hope. He seems to believe in the Man City defense. A contrarian bet, to be kind--bleeding loony to put it more accurately. But to put it in perspective, even in these early stages he's 73 points up on #2, the impressive Darr squad, which deserves special mention for the 67 that could've been a 73 if only Benny McCarthy was able to be subbed in for Angel.

Now for anyone who's frustrated and giving up hope, take a look at where Vegas was this time last season--dead last in Very Small Rocks behind an injured Scholes and a slow-starting Gerrard. From then on it was a steady climb to second on momentum picks and double-gameweek plays...but I've said all this before.

Now will the real Benjani Mwaruwari please stand up? How's Kanu getting all these goals for the mighty Pompey?

 

Wow, a tough week for the FPL. Great week for the EPL. Have you noticed?

Going to be tough to get a fantasy score out of these matchups. These are the teams with the most players selected. CH and PO both have 11 players on teams in our league. MU has 10 and LI has 9.

0-0's probably creates the most points for all involved, but a couple 1-0 or 0-1 will hurt the overall totals.

If you are loaded on one side, like CH or something, then you could make a score if you have the right side. But most have players from both teams where one team doing well hurts the fantasy scores for the other.

The answer: Pick a good captain! Which may be the answer to all questions in the FPL.

 

Here's a shot in the dark. Borough look better lately and face a soft schedule. Resident Noah Wyle (of 'ER' fame) lookalike Manu Pogatetz has been killing off attacks left and right and not even getting his skull bloodied as much as last season. But I may well wish that instead of Downing I'd gone for...I can't believe I'm going to say this...Jason Euell.
