It is to keep interest up for as long as possible. When the league gets stronger, which it should, I am sure they will adjust their playoff set-up.

Dude. I AM AGREEING WITH YOU!!

I don't think there's anything interesting about the league.
That's why I can't get into it. I'll only watch it if there's nothing else on.

And today is their championship game. Really stupid to hold it against the late NFL games. They should have had this game Friday night.

    I know I won't be watching it.

DF, I don't think they will. Not at all.

I do hope no mls fans stumble into this thread.

Some of your criticism is quite over the top .

I've got a bit of negative rep because of my opinion of MLS. And if I get it, I don't care. It's my opinion.

I can't help it if too many here choose to believe that league is better than it is.

I'll put it this way. When you are used to having the finest, it's hard to go back to having medicore..........

I actually kinda agree with him. I chose one or more teams in the US from always any sport I sympathize with, but I didn't take any MLS team, and the reasons footy posted are part of my reasons...

Thanks man. I really would love to support MLS, but I can't pretend it's something it's not.

I know exactly what it is and I have no team to directly support and I support MLS.

That's good bro. I don't like the way it's run. But is going to some FC Dallas games "supporting MLS"?

If so, then I guess I do. I guess I should say I don't support the way it is run.

Well..it's more than I get to do...I just have A league. But my team knocked off a few mls teams in the US open cup this year. :)

I agree with you, and I am sure most mls fans agree when talking about how the league is run.

I don't care how MLS is run. I just want it to produce good players. Thats what is important about the MLS, it produces good players (i.e. today w/ Dempsey, Parkhurst).

Quite frankly, I can see a good lot of these players playing in some decent teams in the future (like Hertha ;) ).

well, regardless of what you think about the league, it has helped produce some decent players and really helped the national team.

Yes, I completely agree with that DF. I said earlier in this thread, "Like any league it produces some good players."

I think your perception of my comments are wrong. I'm not saying we'd be better off without MLS. I know what MLS's uses are and I do appreciate the league for those uses.

    However..........

    I'm saying I don't like the way it's run.

I don't think the level of play is what the "soccer pundits" here in the USA try to tell you it is.

I don't think it's very entertaining and I don't feel it will ever become a true "Major" league here because there is too much established "American" competition.

That's all I was saying before.

I also don't choose to ignore the fact that too many American sports fans still buy into the idea that "soccer" is a "foreign" sport.

I also don't choose to ignore the fact that too many American sports fans will continue to think that way as long as we have a$$holes like Jim Rome on the airwaves shooting down the sport itself every chance he gets.

I will admit. I enjoy Rome's show. Except for his take on "soccer".

Just like I don't like what I don't like about MLS, but I appreciate what it's done for the American game as a whole.

However, that's not what PileD and I were discussing...........

I would like to see another German team(s) advances in the CL along with Bayern.

It is time to take this one home, Schalke!

It seems like Rangnick is playing a 4-5-1 with Kuranyi the lone striker.
Larsen on the bench, Rafinha suspended
The key will be to contain the wingers as much as possible. Luckily for us Beasley's not playing, but Farfan is, and damn he's dangerous.

Milan leading in Fenerbahce 1-0, so this would make things REALLY tight going into the last day if things stay like this.
