I can’t figure it out. I’m assuming somebody has a green card or they actually have 11 international slots and it’s just a typo.

Can't say it is not deserved.

I'm excited by the fact that we have our whole team under longer term contracts and they're young. Consider we have Paintsil, Pec, Puig, Dejan, Aude, Neal, Garces, Cerillo, Cuevas as guys in their prime and in our control for a few years. Add Yamane/Marky D (not young) but their great and under contract.

Next year the only real decision to make is to renew or replace Yoshida.

That's not all on Greg at all (more Kuntz) but will be cool to see how we build on such a successful year.

With Caceres probably out, you could sign a better CB while trying to keep Yoshida as a veteran presence with a lower salary. That's what I would like to try.

I guess that closes the loop on that. Funny that the transfer window doesn’t apply to mls international slots (I guess)

I’m glad you can understand this stuff. MLS rules overwhelm me.

Ok, here is a revisit of our early season predictions, made in late April:

“So far our way too early predictions for SS league finish are:
    hav77 1st
Skydog 2nd <- Our current position
    Bilge 3rd
    Baysider 3rd
    Trickhog 4th
    Berks 4th or 5th
    Surikt 5th
    LAA 7th”

So the Too Early Prediction Winner will be either myself (yay, me!) or Bilge and Baysider if we get 3rd. Also if we lose vs HOU (we won’t, but if) and LAFC & CLB win out it is possible for us to end up 4th and that would make Trickhog the winner and Berks a half-winner. Congrats to all players - once the reg season is over your prizes will be in the mail!

We're rooting for Inter Miami to be sanctioned with a points deduction for violating MLS Roster Rules and Regulations and for Hav77 to win.

Transfermarkt stats says something else. A total of 6 goals and 6 assists in all competitions (over 2000 minutes played) since 2022. His playing time for Boca has gone down since 2022 as has his production and market value. They also list him as a left wing with only 2 starts as an attacking mid.

No attacking your post or the desire to add depth, just questioning the rumor.

I looked at those stats and they are interesting. Like you said not many goals or assists in the last 4 seasons. But most of that is due to not getting playing time. His production per 90 minutes is 0.60 g+a/90, which is decent (but not great like our current forwards) for an 22 yo, albeit from a small sample. The puzzle is why he can’t get playing time (only 338 minutes in 17 games this season), which is especially curious since Boca is only scoring 1.18 goals per game.

But if the Galaxy interest rumor is true that probably means Kuntz knows why Zebellos isn’t breaking into the starting lineup, and the reason doesn’t concern him. Given his track record, in Kuntz I trust.

And the last guy we got from Boca - Pavon, not Schelotto - sorry if my chronology is off here - ended up being pretty good.

I have to disagree. I think the Galaxy dodged a bullet in not signing him for the amount Boca wanted as a transfer fee. Pavon had a very good 2019 from an assist perspective (even better given his August joining of the team). On the other hand he did have the best striker in LA Galaxy history as a target so he should have had a lot of assists. His 2020 season reflected this. With twice the games and a very poor season from Chicharito, he had 1 fewer assist but 10 goals.

Since 2020 he has done almost zilch. Perhaps he never recovered from his ankle surgery in Feb of 2021, but he hasn't scored 10 goals total in regular league play since he left the Galaxy (in over 4800 minutes of play). He has totaled 14 assists in that same time span. FWIW, Boca let him walk on a free transfer in July of 2022.

Finally, I can't find anything to indicate that the rape charge against him went away. While this is old news now, it was certainly an issue in 2021 when the Galaxy were looking to sign him.

This is silly season (the reports, not your post Beirut). This guy’s resume includes one 2nd-division game lifetime (Bertha SC). Otherwise he played for Bertha’s reserve team where he scored 8 goals in 45 games. Before that he played in Germany’s fifth (!) division.

    Might be a VCFC signing.
