Chances are he's not good enough along with the other guys Christensen, Stevensen, etc. The organization are at fault for many things but giving Metzeger an uproven and not so talented player a shot isn't one of them.

But I do like bringing in Dane, Hurtado and Wallce for tryouts. First two are proven MLS players and Dane especially at one point was one of the premier guys in his position. Hurtado probably is better than anything we have at CB atm unfortunately. Wallace can fill in a position of need.

 

Sasha played the 10 at chivas while he was there and as fans of Montreal have said Felipe isn't really suited for the 10.

 

I was never a huge fan of Dane like most people and worry that his lack of PT and the leagues overall growth may catch up to him.

However, if we can have him at a reasonable salary I think he's excellent depth.

 

Preseason game today was about as sloppy as you'd expect at this stage. I thought Kljestan and Zubar were the standouts, Grella did well on the goal too.

 

Marsch is on record saying he sees Felipe in a deeper-lying role, alongside Dax.

 

Sean Davis has been outstanding in today's preseason game playing one of the deeper lying CM positions.

+1. Davis was excellent. He was active, intelligent and displayed some nice skill on longer passes. He's also got a motor that will serve him very well in MLS.

 

Another week and a half until we kick this thing off.

Usually, I am bubbling over with excitment awaiting match 1. A little different feel this year for me. I hope I can manage a shift in attitude after I start getting back out to the matches.

I love the club, but there is just something very off about it after this off season.

I don't have a good feeling about our defense this year...

 

Its pretty much guaranteed to start ugly, and if our starters don't stay healthy it could get downright disastrous. Right now our backup fullbacks are Lade, who is barely even viewed as a fullback anymore, and possibly Anthony Wallace, who was considered one of the weaker players on an NASL team last year.

 

I watch NYFC game yesterday and I ask my self, are they playing in the same league of the RBNY, they look so advanced luz years or aomething alike, did you watch them, you better and don't have a bad experience later....

Olave cleaned up LOTS of mistakes for us. This rag tag group of inexperience, mediocrity and unknown entities should struggle big time without him.

No D, a solid middle and a one man strike core. Then add in a new coach, a new system based on playing fast like an Energy Drink and a bunch of new guys that have to all learn to play with each other and the Titi factor, and you have a very tough path ahead.

If we are good this season by a real genuine measure (NOT THE PHONY 'WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS" SCHTICK that many use). I mean really perform as one of the better teams in the East. If we do, then these guys deserve all the credit in the world.

It would be an AMAZING job.

 

Marsch is suggesting that Perrinelle will start next to Zubar if there's a game this week. Perrinelle is even slower than Holgersson, and I'm going to assume Zubar isn't as fast as Olave... any team with a quick striker is going to reeeally give us trouble.

 

I only Perrinelle twice last season, but the one thing I do remember was that he looked terribly slow.

Hard to imagine this guy as our starting center back.

That said, we will be seeing a season of musical postitions as Marsch experiments looking for what might work. No way this guy is the starter all season.

 

Yeah we're basically crossing our fingers that either Miazga or Jean-Baptiste step it up and earn the spot next to Zubar.

 

Maybe the Seattle guy can help? Peri is too slow for MLS play front what I have seen.

 

I'm not a big fan of Hurtado, he was awful the few times I saw him play for Chicago last year and he hasn't played well at all through the preseason. He's seems like the kind of guy who is good for at least a few plays per game where his brain just shuts off and he loses focus.

I'm fan of baseball and soccer, when in home back at Queens the mets stadium is about 20 blocks from home, so I walked to the game maybe 20/25 times a year, in 1994 the player declare a strike when my team the METS were the favorite to win the WC, ... I was so angry that I promise my self never ever again attend a game of baseball or even watch them on TV and until today I never have been on a baseball game or watch them on TV again, so this rime was soccer and I said my self, if this bums declare strike I will quit for good to this garbage and never ever will attend or watch a game again, but they decided to play instead of bum around and so we will go to the games and watch them on TV....
