It has nothing to do with having an skills at crossing.

Just send it up and in there, to hell with the target, and see what happens.

I think that with our speed of possession, we don't need to rain crosses in from the side to be effective on Rimando. If we use the width of the field for short passing and ping it around as we attack, we can turn the defense into disorganization well enough to make our own chances in the box for Fred and Emilio, both of whom can handle the ball very well as well as score. If we have Burch and Vanney both sending good balls in from distance and if Simms can keep a lid on their central attack, I think we will be in decent shape. We can bring on some speed in Kpene, De Roux, and Mediate in the second half and run at them with more success as they tire and give our guys up top room to pass and move.

Now, I've followed D.C. United since '98 and my sense of history is all screwed up. I've lived in Maryland, D.C., Puerto Rico and other places but I seem to remember a game in a very dark period of time when I went to games at RFK on a regular basis. Went with a friend and we ALWAYS lost. I remember vividly a game against San Jose. Ali Curtis scored on a breakaway and Rimando was great--but we still lost 2-1.

We couldn't possibly have been in contention that year. Could we have???

Dumb. Are the vast majority of league matches shown on TV? I'm curious with the new expansion. I really hope St. Louis gets a TV deal to carry every game, but is that common at all in MLS with some teams?
