Are they announcing pull-backs or am I just missing it?

Small consolation. Behncke was one of the few bright spots on this team last season.

Why on earth didn't GE put someone like Gbandi on the unprotected list instead of Matt?

no more silver beemer. our back line is going to suck next year.

me sad... but I guess it could be worse... *sigh*

RSL is gonna be the Mormon Burn... they've got Kreis, Ezra Hendrickson, DJ Countess & now Behncke.

Someone please explain the Behnke scenario. You give up a solid central defender. Great on pushing up for corner kicks. And we're left with Gbandi...

Has anyone considered that Matt wanted to leave? He was not going to start over Gibbs or Jolley, and Goodson was moving ahead of him.

FCD, however, is left very thin in central defense, esepcailly with Gibbs in the USMNT pool. CC is going to have to find a solid back up in the middle, and I doubt he will do it in the draft. A League, perhpas, or a trade reminiscent of the Dunseth move. If CC is very motivated, a discovery pick.

    Cheers!

Matt is ready to be a starter and as pointed out it wasn't going to happen here with the current situation. He asked for minutes and there just wasn't space.

That all said, there will be a time when FCD will miss Matt Behncke.

    Good points, about Behncke.

But why not trade him if he wanted to leave?

That way we'd get at least something (a 2nd round pick, perhaps) for him.

If you are asking me, my guess would be they tried to and couldn't get RSL to bite. They did after all get them to take Kreis instead of having to release him.

In the end they had to expose someone.

The party line is the same quote I listed for the reason Quill was protected.

Personally I believe he falls into the "has value around league" catagory.

So what happened to all that talk about Chivas getting spanish speaking players only? Was that just a ruse to get teams to expose certain players?
