I love the intimidation factor for the opposing team/pumping up factor for the U with the tunnel and locker rooms on the River End. Not only is it unique, but it was unbelievably loud underneath the metal stands with *maybe* 30 people stomping on them and chanting before the USA match. I can't imagine what it'll be like on the 27th when 2,000 SoBs are there.

These look like 'analog' ad boards in the 6/10 facebook photos.

    just chiming in:
I understand the financial benefit of the analog boards, but at the same time, some bright color bouncing around a few feet off the pitch can get me pretty aggro when the ADD kicks in.

Most stadia have the static ad boards on the sideline where the cameras are and even part/most of the end lines, with animated, LED boards along the sideline facing the cameras.

I hadn't been on the Virtual stadium for ages, but thought I'd have a look today. Nice to see it's got the PPL Park logo on it now. Not sure how long that's been there.

It's been like that for days. Plus no new photos on their FB page. I think they're going to make us sweat it out until next week...next week...:D

The Delco Times vid with Nick confirms that the static ad boards will be used in lieu of the LED ones.

Certainly, I am not the only one who has noticed the loss of the construction cam over the last two weeks. That said, it has indeed gone out with a whimper as the link has finally been removed from Union's website as of yesterday.

It's odd that it was up while most of the not so distant work was unseen within the stadium. However, since recent work would have been front and center for the web cam view, it's turned off.

Re: Official :: PPL Park Construction Photos

Does anyone know what are the players seating going to be like? Will they go with the old aluminum benches like the rest of the league with exceptions in New York and Toronto or will they go with the more euro style seating like at Red Bull Arena?

Re: Official :: PPL Park Construction Photos

I just got the answer from the Philly.com live chat about the new soccer stadium. William Bender and Kerith Gabriel was answering questions at noon today on the site.

Kerith Gabriel replied: They will be Euro style seats, same as you see at anfield, old trafford, etc. High back seating in front of the club seats on the south side of the park.

I had been wondering about this. Excellent, makes the club just that bit more classy.
