Are you talking about the new Meadowlands Stadium or Citi Field? Because I didn't see any at PPL.

I think this is the photo he's talking about when he said "obstructed view". It's not ideal, but I'm sure the view isn't as bad as the photo makes it out to be.

He's talking about those shitty upper-deckers at RBA that have to be tarped over. You'd think Rossetti would've learned from their mistakes.

No, the view is that bad. As I was looking at it on Saturday my thought was they would only sell those seats for concerts because the view of the stage is unobstructed. Or they could put Red Bulls fans there (or the other side which is just as bad).

Not being able to see the goal because of the club box building to the left makes it a pretty useless seat. You can see them on the Virtual viewer too, although you can't see the view from the seats in question.

Yeah, here's another view. I took this one while sitting in the seat. It's pretty bad, and I'd be pissed if I dropped money on this seat...

Re: Official :: PPL Park Construction Photos

Is it just the one seat to the right and left of the structure, or is it a large group of seats on both sides? If its just two seats in the entire stadium its not that big of a deal.

Sadly it is as bad as it looks. i don't know who they are going to sell it to. That wall on the left is the luxury boxes and there you can't even lean forward to see the goal.

That's a shame, even if it's just a few seats. Seems like an odd oversight for a new stadium. I mean I know you can't avoid having walls like that, but maybe there's something you can put back there other than more seats.

Re: Official :: PPL Park Construction Photos

I talked to someone at the stadium about the obstructed views. They said that originally they weren't going to put seats in those locations, but they decided to put them in for concerts, since the stage isn't obstructed. They know they're obstructed and will make sure people aren't surprised by them.

What if it was for, let's say, $5.00? Technically, that is what Portland is doing with some of their really bad seats (some with partially obstructed views). There are no surprises, but you also are basically paying next to nothing to see (part of) the game.

I would spend the $5 on those seats and then stand on the concourse behind the sections a little closer towards the corner...provided that's allowed, not sure of the standing room policy.

I think it's a very good problem to have to be talking about a few obstructed view seats in your shiny new right-sized stadium for your new team. Congrats.

love the stadium in general but why the tunnel entrance/exit from behind a goal ?
is there any reason the tunnel wasnt put at the halfway line like most other stadium world wide ?

Home field advantage, they have to walk through/past the River End to & from the locker rooms.

Re: Official :: PPL Park Construction Photos

Most other stadiums world-wide are a lot larger than PPL (I'm speaking in terms of the physical structure, not just the seats).
So the designers of PPL had the problem of where to put the locker rooms. When you consider the concessions, and allowances for the suites/club up above, it makes sense to put the locker rooms at one end or another. Locker rooms at midfield would have eaten up a lot of space that is better used for other stuff.
Once they decide on locker rooms at an end, well then it's obvious that they're going to take advantage of the supporters section and put the away locker right under the SoB's.

Is it only the away team lockers under the SOB's?

No, both are. I would hope that the visitors have less noise insulation
