Can we please acknowledge the fact that Oak Park Bob is now eating truckloads of crow right now. Is he still around these boards? If not, can someone do us the great gift of digging up some of his comments stating that we would NEVER get our own stadium.
Maybe a portion of the stadium could be named after him. Or a sandwich from the concession stand. He would occasionally post on the Tribune Fire page board, but nothing lately.
espn soccernet has an MLS message board that has a few regulars, and within hours of the bridgeview announcement, oakparkbob was there calling peter wilt a failure for his inability to keep the fire in chicago and provide better public transport. bob will never eat a truckload - or even a spoonful - of crow. as long as peter wilt stands idly by while nations go to war, diseases remain uncured, and children go to bed hungry, oakparkbob will stay on post, ready to hold the fire's general manager to account.
Check out his usual blather on chicagosports.com's Fire boards (which are dead because everyone is here). Be sure to start a thread about the stadium and sent it to him.
Re: OPB Oak park bob is a guy who actually works in my office and is not a soccer fan. He used to come on these boards to give soccer fans a hard time or as he says to give a balanced view. He was banned from bigsoccer after too much trolling.I have promised him that I won't give out his name or address as he is deathly afraid of the Polish ultras.
