A Wikipedia page is reporting that Machida has been approved of promotion once the stadium is at J. League capacity regardless of placement on the table in the future. Has this been officially announced anywhere?
I remember this was brought in some article back in September but can't find a proof. For you Japanese-readers, is it something alike in the club statement? If not, I probably remove this from the article.
Arte Takasaki drew 1-1 with Sanyo Sumoto at home to win the series 4-1 and keep their JFL place. Thus, for next year the top three divisions look as follows: 2011 J. Blaublitz Akita report on their website here that they've decided not to apply for associate membership.
This page on the SC Sagamihara blog indicates that RKU will drop into the regular Kanto League alongside YSCC, etc. Sagamihara themselves, meanwhile, will have to take part in an extra play-off match on 16 Jan against Sagawa Computer System (who finished 6th in the Kanto League Division 2) to move into the Regional League, having failed in their attempt to jump straight into the JFL.
So, how many salarymen teams are stuck we with in JFL? Should be like five or so, plus JEF reserves (no comments)...? Also, another point I need is worth discussing: if two teams are promoted, and I see that as rather likely, we're up to 22, and the J.League is full. If the J.League was a reasonable organization, they should begin to make some plan about future developments. I still believe a Premier with 12 teams in the beginning would be the best. with the leak of talent to Europe, It will be hard to have 18 competitive teams, see Shonan and Kyoto this season... (Let's switch thread if necessary...)
Goru, there's been extensive discussion on this thread about what might happen when J2 reaches 22 member clubs. with the leak of talent to Europe, It will be hard to have 18 competitive teams If by this you mean 18 good teams, well, that's one thing; but better quality players leaving top-half-of-the-table clubs (and Urawa) I would have thought could only serve to make J1 more competitive by increasing parity across the squads. As you say, though, this isn't the place for that discussion.
Sure there was... but we were never potentially one year away from it... I guess Should we open a new thread, or refurbish Premier League or 100 Years Vision...?
I found this link on wikipedia: http://www.shikoku-np.co.jp/sports/kamatamare/article.aspx?id=20101219000070 I guess Kamatamare Sanuki already applied for J.League Associate Membership at 18 December 2010. It is right, isn't it? Anyone could bring any details? Thanks.
That's right, and Kamatamare are expecting their application for associate membership to be considered at the board meeting in February.
One of my HS players at Ritsumeikan Uji (Ohta, 18, DF) has signed with Shiga FC, Kansai Div.1. Huge news, uh?
FC Ryukyu are going to reapply for associate membership in January. Seems like they have made something with the stadium?

Really good thread, everyone. Shame I've only stumbled upon this now. I noticed the Div4 playoff results haven't been posted on RSSSF.com, and wonder if anyone would want to join their Japan contribution team? I'm curious: has anyone here ever been to see (Shizuoka) Fujieda MyFC, at either the Fujieda Sports Complex Park or the Shisetsu Sports Ground? For those who may not be aware, it is a club where supporters vote online for which players are included in the match squad, the uniform design, and various other club matters. I'm thinking of doing some Japan groundhopping in either 2012 or 2013, and I have Urawa Reds, Yokohama FC, and Fujieda MyFC tentatively penciled in. I was wondering if any of you might have some recommendations for quirky grounds/clubs to visit, preferably below the J1-level.
Thanks. I'm particularly interested in tips for grounds of JFL and non-league clubs. Are there any lists of all of the various Japanese clubs (and their stadiums), for JFL and below? For example, for Danish football, there is http://www.stadions.dk, which lists all clubs in the top five divisions, and has information about their stadiums (addresses, photos, links to Danish map images, etc). Does any such site exist for Japanese football? If something that detailed/convenient doesn't exist, where could I get a list of all of the clubs in the various levels? I'm sure the JFA official website has it, but any links/tips would be greatly appreciated.
Okay, so the JFL clubs (for 2010) are listed in English here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Football_League Someone has kindly put together an English list of regional league clubs here, but it hasn't been updated since the 2009 season: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Regional_Leagues The Japanese-language Wiki page for the regional leagues has links to each particular regional FA, as well as a link to this page with 2010 final league tables (including symbols to show which clubs were promoted/relegated at the end of 2010): http://34.xmbs.jp/chiiki10-229628-ch.php?guid=on No links to club websites or stadium info, sadly, but if nobody has any better ideas, I'll just gradually make my way through using that info and a search engine. Cheers.

At the moment Im still busy with the J1 and J2 team updates.
