    Allright,

I think Shockey is probably in the top 3 of TE's this year. Which is great, except this has to be one of the worse years ever for tight ends. Portis deserves rookie of the year, in my mind. Hands down.

My favorite shockey moment this year won't be the showboating touchdown catch last week to get the giants into the playoffs.

It will be when the Giants have 35 points, and are down to like the 49ers 10 yard line. They throw the ball on 3rd down to a relatively wide open Shockey and he drops the ball. As a result, they kick a field goal and lose. Its sad really.

He's very good, he deserves the award (but so does Portis).

We can only hope that the Redskins draft Mike Doss next year to knock Shockey's punk-ass out home and away.

I just mentioned at lunch today that if I were a safety or linebacker I'd be praying for a free shot on a crossing route. Begging, even.

In his rookie season, Roy Williams was the best in the NFL at his position. No other rookie can claim that. Roy deserves Rookie of the Year.

Offensive ROY: Portis. Shockey had a very good late season run and brought a lot of excitement to NYG football, but he had only two TDs all season and dropped a lot of passes throughout. Portis had the third-best rookie rushing season ever.

Defensive ROY: Roy Williams. Peppers won this, but to me the 4-game suspension to end the year taints the first 12 games too much. Williams is going to be the backbone of the Dallas D for the next decade. He's at least as good as Brian Dawkins of the Eagles, and Dawkins is (deservedly) Pro Bowl-bound.

    I agree.

I think you'll see tight ends making less and less impact on the statsheet. The TE's main responsibility, catching short passes, has shifted to the fullbacks, who are rushing less and catching more.

Like that 20 yard pass catch on 2nd and 25 vs. the Eagles last week? It didn't seem to phase him. He held onto the ball, popped up and caught the game tying TD a few plays later.

Portis. He made Denver's offense go for most of the season. Very dangerous as a pass catcher as well. Not only that, consider that the Broncos O-Line was more injured and a lot less effective this year than it has been in the past decade.

Shockey plays with passion while Terrel Owens is considered a jerk? Heck, one "sports show" decided to link showboating with race. I guess blacks are showboats (Latinos, too just see the little league kids) while whites must be playing with heart. Go figure.

Ok, so this guy is the rookie of the year when at the time of voting (before anything he did in the Philly game mind you) he had ONE single touchdown. He ended the regular season with a grand total of TWO touchdowns! WOW!

Shockey is a player and not a fraud, but a fraud of a selection for rook of the year. But, if you look at the stats then consider he must have been a starter and did play a vital role in keeping his team into games, maybe even mentally, then what other hyped player could you select? Playing in NY does help.

Just wait until Winslow Jr joins the league. Many could forget the other TE from Miami. :)

Garcia, I see what you're sayin. It's true to an extent, but ya don't wanna piss da man off by pointing out inconsistencies, do ya? ;)

I still get a kick outta the Madden commercials where a ton of marquee players are jawing at the camera.

To all those who hate jawing in the NFL, GET THE FOOK OVER IT.

Sure I hate Terrell Owens, that's just because he plays for SF. If he played for the G-Men, damn, that would be magically fat-licious...

Well, onto Shockey. Definitely what the Giant offense needed. Opens up the offense and gives Kerry "JaegerMeister" Collins an additional weapon. Just hope Ike Hilliard comes back. Hilliard, Amani "It's Not A" Toomer and Rod "Alarm Clock" Dixon with Shockey, DAMN!!!

Just gotta draft some O-lineman to replace those 3 useless Notre Whore bastards.
