The All-Whites are my "second" team at this tournament. Here's an update about their doings. All Whites get the feel of Paris before big game
Just heard from a certain poster with in depth knowledge of soccer tv broadcasting info, that this game will be shown at 6pm and not 7pm.
They have. They struggled mightily the last three games against Korea, Argentina and Paraguay. But they were without the Euro based players for Korea and Argentina (although Inamoto played vs Korea & Argentina and Nakata played vs Argentina) and the entire backline was replaced for the Paraguay match. In short, I have no idea how they'll perform. Right now, our U-23 team may be better than our senior side.
All Whites Starting XI Named All Whites coach Mick Waitt has named his team to play the first game of the Confederations Cup soccer tournament, starting Thursday morning in France. Chris Zoricich is the captain. The starting XI is: Micheal Utting Duncan Oughton Chris Zoricich Ryan Nelsen Gerard Davis Ivan Vicelich Simon Elliott Mark Burton Vaughan Coveny Chris Killen Aaran Lines Crowdie.

I think this game will be of two contrasting styles. Japan are much smaller than the All Whites are so will play the ball quickly across the ground. The All Whites will be more physical and play more balls through the air. Speed vs Size - should be a good game. The wonderful thing about soccer is that any team on their day can beat any other within reason. This is why there are so many different scores being posted for the first round games. Crowdie.
i think japan are the more skilled team, but new zealand can take advantage of there height and strength....so.....anyhting can happen..2-0 or 2-1.....for japan..maybe, maybe a tie....if new zealand dont waste any of there crosses or free kicks...
I don't think it will be as bad as the qualifiers for the '82 World Cup when the All Whites just physically overpowered a number of the Asian teams but the All Whites will certainly be bigger than their Japanese counterparts. If you have an advantage use it.... Crowdie.
