Marquette? Who in the hell had that team in the Final Four bracket? Wow!!! And right now, KS is beating the crap out of AZ
You guys know that pool in NYC that has a jackpot of like $750K? I know a guy who picked Marquette in that pool. He'd been talking about that all week long. WOW!
The Orangemen are beating up on the Sooners. Has there ever been a tournament in history where none of the #1 seeds made it to the Final Four? I think that Michigan State has a good chance to beat Texas.
I seem to member that there is usually at least one #1 seed. I am not much of an Oklahoma fan. But so disappointed that Syracuse is there. I have nothing against most of their players, but I can't stand most of the 'Cuse fans. I put them on par with ND and all Florida football team fans.
Lawrence blew up last night. :-D I talked to one of my friends, while I was way beyond passed out at this point, he went to Allen Fieldhouse where there was about 10,000 people there to welcome the team home. Kinda crazy considering it was 4 AM!!! I was there last year but I think it was only like 11 at night. This has been one crazy season so far, stupid losses, injuries, underachievement at times, but it's all been thrown out the window for the tournament. Hinrich and Collison are just insane and I'm so glad I've been here at KU to witness all 4 years of theirs. I have a pretty good feeling about the Marquette game. Though that can always come back to bite you in the ass. That Kansas/Texas game at the fieldhouse earlier this year was one of the best regular season games in the NCAA this year and I know that loss hurt Texas and I do not want to play them in the final. But I like our chances whoever we face. Although the #1 seeds like their chances too, so I dunno. Kansas over Texas in the final.
Somebody explain to me why I'm watching a REGIONAL FINAL game between Michigan State and the University of Texas being played in San Antonio, TEXAS. The NCAA is a joke when they pull shenanigans like this.
But wasn't it in 2000 when Michigan State played the Regional Final against Iowa State in Auburn Hills, MI?
I heard that Milwaukee was kinda nuts downtown also. Too bad that Marquette has to play Kansas in the semis. I dislike both teams in the other half of the brackett. Will be rooting for Marquette against Kansas but whoever wins that game is the team I will root for in the final.
I think that you're right. I'm not even an MSU fan. No team should be allowed to play in their home state this deep into the tournament.
It's always been that way. If you have to go strictly by region, how do you justify putting Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas in the same bracket as #1, #2, and #3 seeds when they could have all been #1 seeds. Then considering you can't play a team in your conference until the Sweet 16, what do you do about the 2nd tier Big XII teams like OSU, Mizzou, and Colorado (6-10 seeds) when it comes time for a 3 v 6, or a 2 v 10 seed matchup in the 2nd round? The host city of San Antonio is in the Midwest region, no one ever said anything about the teams needing to be in the midwest region.
Yes Syracuse got the advantage of playing ni Albany but that had very little to do with the outcome of this game. Especially considering the fact that Syracuse did not play well offensivly. The Fans did not cause the Syracuse defense to contest just about everry single shot and pass that Oklahoma had. The Crows did not cause Carmelo Anthony to use and abuse anybody attempting to gaurd him in the 1st half. The crowd certainly didn't get the refs to call fouls in Syracuse's favor, as OU decided to use thug ball for about 5 minutes in the 2nd half and not single foul was called. Same thing with Texas and MSU. MSU had no one that could stop the Horns from getting the ball in scoring position time after time. They had no one to stop TJ Ford from dribble penetrating at wil. They were forced to foul because they couldn't do anything else. At no time in the 2nd half did I ever get the feeling that MSU could get over the hump and beat Texas. Give credit where credit is due, the better teams won today
I would love to see a Jayhawks-Longhorns final and get a little payback for the last two meetings between the two, it would be the sweetest payback. I think our basketball program finally has gained the respect our football program has, except our basketball team deserves it.
My ex-GF (SU class of '94) is a happy person now. ------ Sorry if this has already been discussed elsewhere...but which of these players are sure shot NBA material? All I've heard about this year is Lebron that and King James that. Which college players are gonna be high draft picks this year?
Since this is a Final Four Thread I'll only stick to the Final Four Teams I'm not gonna guess who is or isn't gonna jump to the NBA drft so I'll just guess who is likely to get drafted in the 1st round Syracuse Carmelo Anthony Hakim Warrick Jeremy McNeil Texas TJ Ford James Thomas (looks like a pretty good 4) That freshman center Kansas Aaron Miles Kirk Heinrich Nick Collison Wayne Simien Marquette Dwayne Wade #55 and finally I'd like to add thise quote... "This is my first time getting to the Final Four, and hopefully not my last.'' - Carmelo Anthony
Of that sophomore trio... Simien definate first rounder, Langford and Miles definate draftees, but more lkely 2nd rounders. All speculation though so that's just my 2 cents.
