As requested. I'm a DJ at school so I am exposed to a whole lot. These are the songs I've been listening to a lot: The Book of Right On-Sarah Jarosz: I Need My Girl-The National: Kids With Guns (Jamie T's Turns To Monsters Remix)-The Gorillaz: The Rocky Road To Dublin-The Tossers: There's more, but I'll leave it at that for now.
One of the best current Chicago Punk Bands No Need to Adjust Enjoy They did a benefit last Friday for a friend of mine who was struck and killed in a hit and run three weeks ago (although the alleged driver turned herself in).
Have you ever heard Chris Thile perform Bach? This guy is probably the best mandolin player out there and he is all about mixing genres. He was in a bluegrass band with freakin' Yo Yo Ma (Goat Rodeo)!
That SOFI TUKKER might be incredibly good. It might suck royally. I am really not sure yet. Good find, though Edit: I listened to a few more of their songs. I like it!
I think he'll handle it. He practically owns the new progressive bluegrass movement conversation with Nickel Creek and The Punch Brothers. BTW: "The Phosphorescent Blues" is an amazing album.
With the Republican Party about to nominate a white supremacist as their candidate for president, everyone should listen to this full album, end to end, for days on end:
Or anything by Muse. Matthew Bellamy is a huge conspiracy theorist and nothing says Dystopia like reading The Hunger Games while listening to The Resistance album (which I did once). My personal favorite from the album:
I learned of SOFFI TUKKER from a Canadian live video game streamer I'm subbed to. Always plays that song when he's taking a break. Glad you like it but it's even better when your mind is elevated.
Considering I'm older than you, I listen to some of the best song lyrics ever written. Blowin in the wind Like a rolling stone Mr tambourine man The times are a changing It aint me babe Don't think twice it's allright All by the greatest song writer ever Bob Dylan
On the one hand everyone but Jerry Garcia in this: on the other hand: Sadly, the original music video is nowhere to be found. Wait, isn't this the depression thread?
