@Jiggly_333, you mentioned getting into "Midwest Emo" lately. Are you familiar with The Sinner and The Saint? They describe themselves as "a emo-pop/pop-punk band from Green Bay Wisconsin." Somewhere I read that they referred to themselves as a "sad bois band" Saw them last night. They were quite good live. Their first time playing in Wausau and they packed the place and the crowd was really into them. Their albums are called "Sad-ish" and "Okay-ish." Check them out and let me know what you think. They might be right up your alley. https://thesinnerandthesaint.bandcamp.com/album/okay-ish
I had not before Friday, but my buddy who runs the bar said I should go see them. Worth the $5.00 cover.
Another good man gone. Saw him with Peter Tosh and with the Wailers. Saw him kicking ass with his brothers some number of times in The Kinsey Report. RIP Donald Kinsey
I was just listening to Group Sex by the Circle Jerks the other day. And, then, it was DOA's War on 45, one of the best punk ep's of all time.
In the early 80s, me and a couple friends went to see if we could get in the bar the Circle Jerks were playing. Turned out Keith Morris was working the door and was thrilled to take our $2(?)cover and let us in. Fun show
Might have that been the West End, at Armitage and Racine? Corner bar with some killer shows back then.
Bummed to be out of the country when Adam is playing the Auditorium Theater(Mar26,cool venue)…reminded me that the last time I saw them live was maybe 6mo after that Circle Jerks show! Kings if the Wild Frontier had 2 full drum kits and put on a hell’ov’a show!
Memory lane…same time period…X was ‘one more version of punk’ that showed me humanity beyond the art…authenticity is where it’s at
