Have not thought of the Mekons in decades. They played at on a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon at lunchtime at UIC when I was there in 1987. I was one of two people who knew who they were.
This rapper was in an anime I watched and he's got some range in my opinion. Him in Carole & Tuesday (his character name was Ezekiel): Covering Rage Against the Machine: His usual stuff:
Very sad. The great Andy Gill, guitarist and last original member of Gang of Four, died today at 64. Can't post a video from my phone RIP to one of "rock's" most innovative guitarists.
Guns and ********ing Rose's are gonna be at Wrigley? Only ever saw AC/DC there think it will be worth seeing Axls fat ass with cigarette voice?
I kinda feel like anytime an artist/ group you like play at a place like Wrigley it's worth it. It's not like they let just anybody play there. Drive-By Truckers have a new album out, so listening to that in between spells of Lil Wayne. The whole album is way more explicitly political than I'm used to from them (they've always been political - but it feels like this is more direct than abstract) but it already seems like a classic by their standards.
Bought a bag of Dark Matter Coffee named Giant Steps, so I had to dust off the vinyl and listen to the album as well. I'm such a bozo.
