My question is which deal looks best, it reads as if Dish Network and Indemand offer a little better package than DIRECTV.

Actually I wonder how long until I can order ith through my remote on Dish or if that fails when will the CSR's know about it??

 

Also, a great move to make it free for the first 2 weekends and 4th/5th of July games.

Might be nice if the day that MLS throws out a press release that the all other folks would have this promoted on their respective sites.

DirecTV does, but iNdEmand (or however you cap. that) and Dish TV do not.

Directv said nothing last year about carrying wild feeds and yet they still did. Hopefully this will be the case this year as well. Listen to the wording, as Directv isn't saying that they won't carry wild feeds. Sounds to me like they will.

DIRECTV - Includes but is not limited to all regional broadcasts on major networks (e.g. MSG, Comcast, FOX Sports Net) .

 

Based on the wording, you may also count the 11 Revolution matches on the WB in Boston as those you cannot access via DirecTV.

Never mind, found the answer. They will have all 22 non-ESPN2 games on local TV - half Fox, half WB.

 

Are you sure about that (that's not rhetorical, I just would like to know)?

Who determines which feed is included in the SO package? Is it common to all carriers or can it be selected by the carrier itself? If the former it may turn out that a local channel is on SO so, even if the opponent is broadcasting via Fox DTV viewers may not see it. Of course if MLS ALWAYS chooses a FOX feed if one is available, then no problem.

Just someone who is again really pi**ed that DTV could be screwing us again.

I called Comcast here in Seattle and they had no clue about this though they did have last years deal in the system. Any ideas on how to get more information on ordering?

 

In the past three years it's taken FOREVER for the Seattle cable company to figure this out. Today I was told that they would have it ready to order in April, but I'm betting they are guessing. Give them a week or so, until a number of people here have reported signing up with Comcast anywhere in the country, and try again.

 

Let's say New England is playing Chicago and New England is broadcasting on the WB and Chicago on Fox Chicago.

I would assume (dangerous, of course) that if the game is on Fox Chicago, the shootout would pick it up. If they didn't, I would assume (there's that nasty word again) that it would not be blacked out on Fox Chicago. Therefore, you'd be able to see the game if you have the Sports Pack.

Either way, I think we get the game if at least one team's regional fox affiliate is picking up the game.

I went to the Revs web site but couldn't figure out which games were on the WB to cross check against the opponent's TV schedule.

That will not happen. Out-of-market MLS games are blacked out (thus the need to subscribe to the Shootout to see them). However, if a game is being televised on a channel DirecTV carries (especially in the situation you describe) then the game will be included in the Shootout (based on my past experience as a Shootout sub since 1998).

 

At this moment, here is what I found at the DirecTV website:

"MLS SHOOTOUT is not available at this time.
Please check back closer to the start of the season."

Actually you have Comcast now. At the beginning of March all of AT&T digital cable became Comcast as part of the purchase of AT&T Broadband by Comcast.
