I, hopefully, with kind permission of Cassano, will take the courage upon myself and start this MOST important thread of the year - CL FINAL!!!

Everyone needs to rest, so the game with Udinese will be unimportant and all players should just get a feel for the ball and sit the rest of the game out.

All I can say is history repeats itself unless we learn from the past mistakes. I hope Ancelotti and even more so, the players are good history students. We play tough from the 1st to the last minute. We don't give them any hope or breathing room. We make them aware that we did not forget anything and we are in Athens to remind them of that.

    Here's the line-up:

    -------------------Dida-------------------
    Oddo-------Nesta--------Maldini--------Jankulowski
    --------------Pirlo-----------Ambrossini------
    -------Seedorf-------------Gattuso-----
    -----------------Kaka------------
    -----------Gila-------------

Subs: Kaladze for Maldini; Pippo for Gila, Cafu for Oddo and Serginho for Jankulowski.

Give me all your thoughts and join me in prayers for Milan.

    FORZA MILAN!!!

I think on paper there is NO WAY Liverpool FC can compete, but footie is not about logic or what SHOULD happen. I pray the Rossoneri are not too cocky when they take the pitch. I still think it will be close because neither side will want to make a crucial mistake.

Yeah, I had a terrible feeling after watching Liverpool/Chelsea that this game will finish on penalties after a 0-0 draw.

I guessing you guys don't feel confident in a pk shootout. I don't think I've ever seen Seedorf score a penalty lol.

Well if I learned anything from 2005 it's that the match will need it's own thread because we'll get all neutral fans coming in and posting. So this will be the pre match thread.

I'd say we go with the Albero di Natale (4-3-2-1), Pippo upfront with Kaka and Seedorf behind, and then the usual suspects (Dida, Oddo, Nesta, Maldini, Jankulovski, Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini)

    no penalties please.

I think though that Milan will not want to go to penalties after what happened in 2005 and will try their best to finish the game in 90 minutes. (even in 120 minutes, as long as there is no shootout!)

I'm with you! Penalties have nothing to do with who is the BETTER side, it's all about chance.

I think you're right. Ancelotti will do what Lippi did against Germany and sub on some firepower in extra time in that case.

I also agree that you should change the thread title to Pre Match. I'll get too confusing when you have to start another thread with a similar title when this thread get filled up.

Not that we don't have Sheva, we don't have to worry about missing penalties:D

IMO, this game will not go into overtime. Red and black confetti will be in the air!

I disagree that penalties are all chance, it takes skill and technique to score a penalty. But I still don't want to go to them...:D

The lineup for the Champions League final should look like this which is a simular lineup to the one we used to rip apart Manchester United at the San Siro. Keep in mind that Paolo Maldini would start in any other game but since it's the final I think he should replace Bonera in the second half so our capitano can lift the cup once more at the end. Dida is not in form at all, I would definetely not put him in goal, after all watch the Istanbull finall of 2005 and tell me Dida didn't give up those goals, it was rediculous! I would also sub in Gilardino for Inzaghi in the second half if Inzaghi isn't getting into the game. Gourcuff should also be added in the last 25 minutes or so to bring some fresh legs on and make the Liverpool defence work hard to keep up to him, he definetely shouldn't start because he is not mature enough of a player to start in a huge game like that, mistakes cannot be afforded in this match.
    KALAC

    ODDO NESTA BONERA JANKULOVSKI

    GATTUSO PIRLO AMBROSINI

    KAKA' SEEDORF

    INZAGHI

TELL ME WHAT YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THAT LINE UP. WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST WOULD BE BETTER AND WHO THINKS THE IDEA OF PAOLO MALDINI COMMING ON IN THE SECOND HALF IS CLEVER. ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE THINKS FAVALLI SHOULD REPLACE JANKULOVSKI IN LEFT BACK? THANKS, FORZA MAGICO MILAN!!!!!!!!

This isn't going to ET. No way. It will be settled in Reg Time, I'm sure of it. I think Liverpool might have a little rust too since the Prem season if finished, advantage to Milan.

Dida and Maldini will both start.

Also, Favalli will not replace Jankulovski. Jankulovski has been one of our players of the season.

we will play the lineup we have been playin wit for sum time now..the only mystery will be if maldini plays or kaladze..or inzaghi or gila...depending on who the coach is more trusting in...maldini will play if hes ok but i hope he doesnt play n then we have to sub him because that'll be waste of a sub...pippo should start i believe he has earned it this year, while gila has been hot n cold...its a shame oliveria isnt even mentioned newhere..we spent so much on him in the summer n he has produced 0 for us...he will be loaned out for sure...or sold...i dont think we can determine who should be subbed..that depends on the situation, if were winnin or losing their is a big difference...if maldini doesnt play n milan win..he will lift the trophy no matta what..so him not playin doesnt mean he cant lift trophy so dont be worried bout that

Our starting eleven is already confirmed:

    ---------------------------Dida
    Oddo-----------Nesta---------------Maldini---------Jankulovski
    ------Gattuso--------------Pirlo------------Ambrosini
    ------------------Kaka'------------Seedorf
    ---------------------------Pippo

The only question marks are Pippo and Maldini. But since Pippo played on Sunday it most likely means Gila plays on Saturday. And anyone playing on Saturday(versus Udinese) has very little chance of starting in Athens. And with Maldini, as long as he's fit he starts. If not Kaladze gets the nod.

That's it. There is very little to debate with our squad for Athens. We don't have anybody on the bench that deserves to start over anyone of the above.

Expect Serginho and Gila to be our first two subs off the bench if we are in need of a goal. And if we are protecting a lead Cafu/Favalli and Brocchi will come on.

Ancelotti may also decide to partner Ronaldo with Oliveira on Saturday.
