decent call up. happy with some, unhappy with others, as always. should be interesting to see who plays, there should be a lot of subs in this game

that's my line up as well. but i'm sure hugo will play with magallon in the middle and salcido on the left instead.

really am confused as to why he has called up not one, but two offensive/creative midfielders, when he doesn't even use one on the field. mabye, after an entire year and a gaggle of games with the seleccion, he's finally going to try and play with balls instead of with two d-mids.

Bofo has been playing good as of late.

Im happy for the zinha call up, even as a naturalized vato.

I really hate the fact that El Tri doesn't get sufficient amount of time to build up for this game. This list should have been announced a week ago. And then people wonder why we lose...besides the refs of course...

Everyone gets the same amount of time to preper for MID-WEEK friendlies. Releasing the LIST this late is smart because the WE didn't have time to evaluate the players. You guys win in MEXICO all the time, we win the the US. The REFS are horrible for both sides, everyone hates THE US more then Mexico.

this list succesfully shows the lack of good mexican centerbacks, we only have Marquez and hugo is afraid of calling Galindo. Moreno has yet to prove himself, he probably will, but its better to have 3 quality CB instead of just 2.

anyway I wouldnt be surprised to see Bautista - Cacho as starting forwards.

this is my first time doing this, since i usually think this is a waste of time, but i'm picking my ass counting the seconds go by for this match...
    ____________Ochoa____________
    Castro_Magallon_Marquez_Salcido_
    ______Pardo__Bofo__Torrado_____
    _Giova_______Vela_____Guardado_

    i'm a sucker for a 4-3-3
this is a very attacking formation relying about 85% of defensive duties on the magamarq duo, keeping pardo and torrado on a short leash on that middle line, but i belive bofo is great at playing from box to box: possesion, distribution, and goalkeeper attention for 90 mins makes for an excelling CM
i've seen Giova and Guardado play well as wide as can be, as well as in the box.
not a likely formation i know, but this would conjure some killer counter attacks, as well as the posession snailing that mexico is known for. bob bradley would definately say ".... WTF is going?..." when he sees this opposing lineup.

i'm down with zinha, i've been rapping about him for a while now.
and yeah they would be great substitutions for one another, but as a CM i prefer bofo, as a CAM i prefer zinha.
zinha is more of a give and go, and receive and give and go type player.
bofo great at posession, and control, which to me matter more in a line up like mine as it would give the kids up front time to find some space to run to.
putting zinha in place of bofo will undoubtedly form a 4-2-2-1-1.
let's not forget that guardado, vela, and giova are more about running to an empty space than running w/ the ball.
