My objective review of Mexico's game:

Playing this Argentinian team is extremely difficult. You have to cover Messi with at least two players and that leaves one or two Argentina players open for a pass. You have to be completely focused on the defense and push for a quick attack to get the first goal. You have to try to keep posession and not give Argentina the ball or any space. In other words, you have to be extremely focused and playing your best.

Then a goal on a clear off side comes. That is a huge mental blow, especially after you had been playing a good game for the first 15 minutes and even had a good chance with Guardado's shot. Mexico is to blame for having lost their focus after that goal and a mental mistake allowed the second goal. After that all is gone.

I am not blaming the off side on this defeat, but it definitely affected the mental state of the mexican team. I think that with or without that off side goal Argentina would have won, but it affected the game.

Having said all that, something needs to be done about the refereeing. What happened to the U.S. (twice), to Kaka, to England, and to Mexico...too much...waaaaay to much.

Actually Im 25. I actually have Mexican friends. I'm actually pretty good looking too with a couple college degrees but thats neither here nor there.

You say I must be sixteen, but if anything, comparing which opponent is more prestigious to lose to is a very juvenile argument. But ill entertain it because Im bored and arguing with a mexican asshole of fan lashing out over Argentina making his team look like children over the internet seems like an exciting way to spend my Sunday afternoon.

You gotta beat whatever team is put in front of you. That being said the only team you beat was a absolute JOKE of a french squad. You should have lost to South Africa. To be honest your team backed into the round of 16 and got f'ed in the face by argentina because you didn't earn your spot. that spot should have been South Africa.

Be honest with yourself, Ghana probably would of beat Mexico worse. Physicality is one of Ghana's strengths and one of mexico's greatest weaknesses.

It is funny how you always G.Ochoa on TV in those commercials for Mexico but he didn't play a single game in the World Cup. Is Ochoa injured?

Both the US and Mexico showed that while they're improving they both have a long way to go to crack the upper eschelon. I was pulling for Mexico today. The reason? We are the only ones who should be allowed to beat the Mexicans...every time we play them. We own them on the pitch. So I wanted to see them take out that coke snorting, hand of God cheat Maradona and his Argentinian team in the worst way. Unfortunately Argentina was just too good for the Tri. But if it weren't for the officials not to be able to see that a player was offside by 5 feet and the mother of all defensive mistakes in this tourny, by Ososrio, it could have been a much different game. The secong goal by Tevez was a thing of beauty though...class.

His point was that the last time we played them, they did not "rape us violently."

    Hey Hombre.

How about checking Mexico vs. USA results for the last ten years and then get back to us.

    Idiot.

Thanks for taking the time to come over to a US thread to say something ridiculous and dumb. We appreciate it. We'll see you soon, enjoy that Gold Cup for now.

I would venture to say all but 2 have practically been Mexico home games. Luckily the sentiments of Mexican-Americans are slowly shifting. Nearly everyone I talk to at school now says they cheer for both or are USA fans. Hooray!

I think a lot of it comes from the Napoleon complex we suffer as soccer fans feeling disrespected even when we are clearly better than the credit we receive. If you're an american soccer fan, you here it from old foes Mexico & England all day every day. MLS this, premier league that. England's relationship to soccer is like east coast rappers failing to give credit to the emerging west coast in the 90's. Mexico is like Notre Dame, lucky, a lot of tradition, too much pride, and annoying drunken fans that still think they have a chance to be champs again but don't acknowledge their own limitations and evident gap of resources to long standing rivals of the past 15 years.

I enjoyed England realizing that they really aren't as good as they think and reminding mexico that their best days are in the distant rear view mirror. This was England's golden generation, and they have more work to find their new identity. Mexico has Vela, Hernandez, and Dos Santos, a solid keeper in the wings, but no talent on defense or detroyer to break up plays w/ Torrado retiring. They're in trouble.

Had the US showed up against Ghana, I liked their chances against Uraguay and knew we had an outside shot against both Argentina and Brazil. As is, Argentina will expose the inexperience Germans, and Uraguay will pound Ghana w/ better talent and tactics.

You are a joke, dude. Here is a lesson: HUGE show of immaturity to start giving out your resume as a way to prove you are very intelligent in a public forum. So what is next...you are going to tell me your dad is very strong and can beat me up? Or are you going to utilize the tactics of many of your US supporter forum friends: start calling me names and make racist comments because you don't have any good arguments.

Who did the US beat? Oh, yes, that powerhouse Algeria...and in the last minute. Oh, and if I remember correctly Algeria was already eliminated so they were just playing for fun. Before you criticize Mexico's win over France, think about who you beat. I would have loved to see the U.S. crap their shorts playing against the host country on the WC opener, or play against a very strong Argentinian team. You feel deserving about having advanced? You were one minute from going home in 3. Mexico, even losing against Uruguay, advanced.

The difference between you and I is that I accept Mexico didn't do well. And I will not be blaming the ref for years to come. You, on the other hand, feel very proud of a very poor performance by the US nats and will continue to cry about that disallowed goal for years to come.

But go ahead, gloat on your poor performance and make it sound like it was amazing. And criticize Mexico's performance if that makes you feel better. Either way, I don't care.

And also go and get two more degrees. I am sure the chics really dig that, you stallion. Grrrrr....

..and while you're at it, let me know how many of those games weren't played at Azteca.

    Idiots.

We've owned Mexico in recent times and there's still those few Mexico supporters who refuse to own up to it.

Fine. You keep living in la la land and we'll keep owning you.

    Next.
