I think it's hard for people to take too much fault with what JK has done for this one.

I think Torres will get lost against a better team. A shame that Dempsey isn't quite ready yet could see the true A team.

Gomez in for Boyd and Gooch in for Cameron.

Like it.......this is a strong lineup and I look forward to seeing Gomez get extensive minutes with the first team.

I still prefer some speed at CB, but let's see how they cope with this.

I'm thinking Fabian is going to have to stay home a lot more here. He'll be up against Hulk the majority of the match.

I would also add that this is the first opportunity in a long time for Oguchi Onyewu to come in and really reclaim his place in this team - it's so crazy to think that he was once the rock of the entire US defense, I would love to see the Onyewu we had all thought we'd have show up tonight.

so it should look like this

    --------------------------Gomez-------------------------

    ---------Torres--------------------------Donovan----

    ----------------Jones----------Bradley----------------

    --------------------------Edu------------------------------

    Johnson--Bocanegra---Onyewu---Cherundolo

    -------------------------Howard-----------------

So pretty much just straight swaps for Boyd and Cameron

Are we sure Klinsi is playing the same formation as against Scotland?

The semicolons from the us soccer twitter post make it look like the same formation.

    Guess Wondo hasn't impressed much.

I think Jones and Bradley will sit side-by-side of Edu.

Can't fault him for sticking with the same lineup. Only additions were 2 guys that arrived in camp late. I hope to see Altidore and Dempsey start against Canada though.

Interesting. Herc isn't a target forward, so we are playing with no true #9. No long ball (until Dempsey and Boyd come on for that role).

Very interesting. I could see Dempsey and Boyd coming in for Herc and JFT and switching this to a 4-4-2.

will be interesting to see how Gomez does. Not really a CF, but he'll hustle and make the backline work.

I agree about the lack of pace at CB when Cameron is not in there concerns me. Though Gooch hopefully makes up for it with his better positional sense. Was hoping to see Boyd start again. Not sure how good Gomez will be at holding the ball at target forward.

My biggest interest besides if this formation and pressing style can work against a better team is to see how Klinsmann plans to use Dempsey and Donovan together

I am almost thinking we see Dempsey come in for Gomez as the lone striker

he is however a pretty good passer. I could see a big part of his job as pressuring from the top coming back and setting it to Torres or Bradley so Jones and Donovan can break.

I wanted Cameron in place of Boca for speed. But I can see how JK only wants one test at a time ( Gooch) rather than a dual experiment with a brand new CB pairing against such a good team.

I had it all guessed right besides for Edu. Thought Beckerman would be a wiser option. We'll see. Edu just needs to remained focused & we could do quite well. Ofcourse the whole squad has to do that though.
