Re: Official LA Galaxy @ DC United PRE Match Thread yeah even though we have all those games in hand i still think tonight is a must win to keep the pressure on the teams in front of us
Re: Official LA Galaxy @ DC United PRE Match Thread During the pregame on Fox Sports West, Allan Hopkins had a talk with Kevin Hartman....who repeated what Bruce Arena said a couple weeks ago... "Jamie Moreno is probably the best player ever in MLS"
Re: Official LA Galaxy @ DC United PRE Match Thread OK, what am I missing. link on MLSNet to video isn't working, and no one is the the chat room. Hmmmm...
Not much intensity from our side. I expect Nowak to kick serious ass at halftime if we don't pull level.
hell yeah. namoff. thatswhatimtalkingabout. beauty assist by gomez. basically going inand namoff gave a nice deflection. these announcers are ridicilous homers.every time a DCU player is on the ground its a dive. plus, their idiots. they think that namoff just scored his first career goal.
True true about Jaime. Q isnt playing very well. Kovalenko has been sloppy. They are going after Prideaux and he hasnt played that well. On the bright side, Gomez is playing well.
Indeed. Right now Gomez is the only thing keeping us afloat. Hopefully Nowak sets it all right at the half.
Max Bretos is a dumbass. The offside was close, I'd have to see the replay again, but he looks slightly ahead when I saw it....and it's the AR who called it, so get on him if anything. I took a referee refresher course this morning(mostly about offside), and saw some old missed offside calls from 98, horrible uniforms. And some REALLY bad calls
Has anyone in MLS history scored own goals as often as Bobby Boswell? Two in one career is rare, two in two-thirds of a season is pretty craptacular. I guess he's just trying to keep up with Sealy in the goals scored category. Let's hope that's the last one he puts into a United net for a long, long time. Moreno's goal was onside. Dunivant held him on. Gomez has been amazing so far with superb free kicks and spectacular distribution. Quaranta has been pretty good, but he got caught offside and hasn't been on the end of through balls because he's running away from the ball every time he is on the forward line trying to receive it. How about some lateral runs and checking to the ball for a combination instead of running away from it? This isn't Rocket Roy we're talking about and Q knows better than to turn away from the ball and sprint every time. Rimando has had some solid saves. Gros is off to a bright start. I like how Gros and Santino and Simms are shooting from outside the box, but they're doing simple things wrong with their technique (plant foot behind the ball, not following through) that are making the shots go well over the bar. Pretty sloppy for professionals, especially considering the time that some of them have had to fire. Carroll is having a good game in the middle of the field. I would like to see Dema take a more aggressive approach to the game. Brandon Prideaux is having a great game so far. It should be an interesting second half.
On the bright side of a 1-1 draw at halftime, at least DC has put the ball in the net all three times.
Would like to see Walker get some minutes. Unless he's been sucking in practice, it's a pretty raw deal to not put a guy in who had a goal and three assists over his last 100 or so minutes of time.
Please someone shut these announcers up. Wilson in for Simms. Kovalenko will probably move inside with Carroll, Wilson on the wing.
Well, LA's 12th man, Jorge De la Bandera, had a big first half. If he would just listen to Tony "esspresso" Lamarzi, it would have been obvious to him that Jaime was onside! The good guys seem to have the run of play, but it's 1-1, and LA has more shots on goal. Let's see how the gals handle the humidity in the 2nd half. Go DCU!
