How about a picture of a Bayer aspirin bottle and a list of symptoms that it is guaranteed to help with:

    + pms
    + aches and pains
    + headaches
    + fatigue (just for fun)

or maybe the slogan "Where does Landon go for relief" and a ghostbusters sign over a bayer aspirin bottle.

or maybe a ghostbuster sign over a bayer aspirin bottle and a big thumbs-up next to a midol bottle.

I'd like to contribute to this thread by saying:

After last year's debacle at RFK, I'd love to see DC smack these boys around like nerds at an American Football camp!

    Re: Wilson

Well . . .he hasn't had many minutes lately, reportedly because of a slight hamstring strain. He definitely played very well leading up to that -- possibly my favorite player on the team in terms of how he was playing. But in the limited minutes he's had since, he hasn't played well, IMHO. And Tuesday night in the exhibition match at Harrisburg, he played really poorly. Not just physically, either -- some bad decision making, which I'd thought was really a strong point of his. I don't know what's going on with him.

    Re: Wilson

I've felt the same way about him as well. I've even called him "one of DC's best signings ever (because I assume DC got him cheap)". I was happy when he came into the side because I liked the fact that he was getting forward, tackling well, and making good decisions with the ball....at the time we were lacking that. It almost seems like his decline in play started with that one horrific pass he made during the Chelsea game.

Ehhh... I wouldnt lose faith in John yet (not that I think you all are!), he may just be hitting a rough spot

I see Josh has 20 caution points going into the game. I hope he plays a smart game tomorrow, with Dempsey and Reis out for NE next week, I would hate to go into that game without Josh (I want everyone to get a full foot in every Rev ass)

I'm wondering if there will be lots of Guatemalans there. They're fired up right now because they just won a qualifier and are back in the thick of the Hex standings. LA doesn't have El Flopadito anymore but they do have Pando.

Does he have the kind of following Ruiz has had? And is he even making the trip (Sampson benched him in the 1st half last weekend at Chicago)?

By all accounts, Pando seems to be sucking in MLS so far. But I've seen him play pretty well in some qualifiers and worry that one of his long-range shots could handcuff Rimando a la Preki.

You wouldn't know it by listening to Bretos and Hopkins. They shout his name with glee and reverence every time he touches the ball, and I can't figure out why. He invariably chooses the wrong option on offense, shooting wildly when he should pass to an open (screaming) teammate, and passing to a covered teammate when he should take a shot on goal.

Bretos: "PAAAAANNNNDDDDO!!!!!!!" (as the ball goes 40 yards wide and 10 yards high.)

I like it. He doesn't worry me at all.

I think that Bretos just gets off on saying his name.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If the supporters down below start it. I promise to sing it loudly and tunefully from 30 rows above.

And with both middle fingers extended.

    Too right.

However, it does feel kind of odd knowing that heading into this match tomorrow, we're actually in 4th place in the division  . You have to give KC a lot of credit, they are putting up wins at the same pace we are right now. It's up to us to match them tomorrow with a big win.

Re: Official LA Galaxy @ DC United PRE Match Thread

Yup, tonight's match is key because of the relentless migrane-like kansas pressure.

Anoche they kicked the snot out of a Jaqua-less Chicago. Bunker Bob strangled the midfield, denying meek Mapp and random Rolfe the ball. Guppies were also hurt by having to use a sub to bring on tubby Thornton for slim Pickens.

Bunker Bob has them believing, tacking on a home win to 3 straight road victories (including chicago and new england) and keeping pace with DC's five straight victories.

lalagals will probably show up in the short-haired Sampson 3-6-1. Midfield possession and denying landycakes the ball is the key to our success in avoiding defeat. Our funky finishing fitness is key to our winning.

Good guys win 1 nil or, with a late goal 2 nil.

You're right. However, the fact that we have either 1, 2 or 3 games in hand against everyone above us in the standings will make a win all the more important.

I think how well Clyde Simms plays in place of Olsen is key. If he's sucking, they can bring in Wilson on the left and slide Dema into the middle. Speaking of Dema, no reason why he shouldn't extend his scoring streak to 4 games.
