One word: OUCH! ouch loose an unbeaten streak at home to KC of all teams, and even a weakend side of them. We missed easy finishing situations, VACA FOR GOD SAKES CHIP IT OVER HIM! Same with you Johnson, come on people its the classic moral, finish or be finished.

Can't say we didn't see this one coming by early in the first half. We should have been down 1-0 by the seventh minute, and we could have easily given up 3 in the first half.

Kansas City is what we looked like 6 weeks ago. A team gelling and playing solid ball based on good team chemistry. Right now they're doing what we aren't, stepping up with guys off the bench when starters are out with injury or suspension. Broome and Vaca showed me something, and I liked the intensity that all of our subs gave us tonight, but the rest left me flat.

Is anybody else sick of watching this team come out with nothing, only showing any kind of fire or determination after we're losing?

    Re: KC/Burn Postgame

No question the burn stunk up the joint tonight. I don't think the goal was luck at all...Zarco's matador defense was responsible for Armstrong getting in one-on-one w/ Jordan. This was a very disheartening game for MLS and US Soccer, because both teams were really crappy...no two ways about it. Vaca couldn't complete a pass, Zarco looked completely out of it (until he gave up the goal, at least), Martinez was slightly better than Vaca but not much. Pareja looked tired, and couldn't get past Zavagnin if his life depended on it. Cerritos was very non-threatening. Deering didn't do much either.

Still, it would have salvaged the evening for me a bit if I could have seen E.Johnson a bit in there. Why the hell do we have to wait till past the 80th minute to get him in there? He won't develop on the bench...he needs game action. And what better time than when we're playing like total garbage?

Well, at least we know that we need Suarez in there. He may have made a difference. And as another poster said, Broome was our player of the game. Broome vs. Gbandi...hmmmmm......?

Leave it to a dopey Kansas City fan to start a new thread when there's already a thread entitled "Official July 31 Burn-Wizz thread."

    Threads merged.

There are few things that burn me up as much as that. GET THE BALL INTO THE BOX. I lost count on how many times we did that and didn't even get an attempt on goal after we got a corner.

That was about as weak an effort as I have seen all year. The Burn played like crap. That long ball forward stuff is the last excuse of tired, lazy and unimiginative team. We were a step too slow all night. The thought process was too slow - passes that could have been made sooner banged off defenders shins. Obviously, we were tired even before the began.

Deering played like crap. O'brien played like crap. Zarco looked like statue on the goal. Vaca played okay but didn't make much of an impact. Bonseu had a good game as well as Morrow. Other than that, the rest of the team played like they wanted someone else to step up. Very lethargic effort.

We should have gotten drummed except for KC played like crap too.

It really looks like Dallas needs a rest. We would have gotten one too with the All Star Break, but we've got Colorado next Wednesday in the USOC. These guys need to go carbo load or something.

Dearing looked good to me. He saved us serveral times in the box. In the 2nd, he put a corner right on spot for Morrow's head. Unfortunatly Morrow got dragged down.

We got unlucky finishing. Tony's stop of Jason's shot was very lucky. The rest of our good shots went straight to the goalie. Tony had good positioning.

Ceritos totally wiffed a beautiful cross to the box.

I question the wisdom of leaving our teams 2nd leading scorer (Rhine) on the bench until midway through the 2nd. Ceritos has played better lately, but Rhine still puts the ball in the net.

The biggest thing that bothered me was slowing down the attack. Many times last night we would pull the ball back and wait until K.C.s defence would setup before attacking. It looked a lot like 2001.

We stunk it up tonight, for sure. We had one coming like that. I thought Broome and T-Bone played well. Jason's in a bad slump. O'Brien didn't bring anything when he came on. EJ needs to start making the most of the opportunities he gets. Last night was his third one on one with a keeper that he flubbed.

We need a healthy Pareja more than ever.

It's amazing how much the team missed both Suarez and Rhine. The team had zero ability to break down the stacked 11 man defense the Wizards were putting up.

What I saw...Zarco had a poor game. I'd rather have seen Bussey get minutes than Zarco cough up the ball. Cerritos is not Rhine. That's right, you heard it from me. Whatever you can say about Cerritos, Rhine is a better forward in MLS. When he came on, they suddenly found gaps in the Wizard defense.

With Zarco on D, Broome was not ready to attack as he normally does with Suarez is on the other side. A number of times Broome could have gone harder into attack, but stayed back. Some of our best attacks came when Broome came forward. And yes, he was man of the match and deserves full credit for his game.

The rest of the team was marginal to poor, and they knew it. KC was just a whisper less marginal to poor. A pathetic showing for both teams.

well Lucid, since you entered the forum, if you knew how poorly your team played you'd be more worried than anything. The Burn played like utter crap, and all your sorry team could do was deflect one in off O'brien after 77 minutes.

Ooooooh, hot team you got there.

You are two and out come playoff time unless you draw an Eastern team. Even then I'm not sure.
