🇯🇵✈️ FC Tokyo defender Seiji Kimura is reportedly set to leave the club for an overseas opportunity. The 23-year-old has made 13 appearances this season after spending last year on loan at Sagan Tosu. He was also Kota Takai’s centre-back partner at last year’s Olympic Games. pic.twitter.com/TneelgOifj— Japanese Football (@JapaneseFbl) August 5, 2025 Selling Kimura set to Join Westerlo. On another note, Keisuke Goto set to join STVV.
Surprised why didn't STVV tried to sign Kenshin Yasuda, he could have boosted their midfield plus he has been in Belgium for quite some time now.
Interesting info, japanese players made the 3rd. most non belgium players in the Jupiler Pro League at the moment.
Nice guess. Exactly 15 at the moment. Could be 16, I am not sure if they already count Goto in. But nontheless, very good seolseol.
I hope Shunsuke Saito can get a move, know that Ozeki/Ichihara/Ryunosuke sato are getting a lot of plaudits for the U-20 EC close match against France But he has been vital to Mito Hollyhock clinching the J2 league title, but J2 overall is still weaker than J1 by quite a bit. Rei Umeki is a decent prospect too.
Honestly speaking, my thoughts is that J2 are closer to J3 than they are to J1. By the way, not sure if anyone share same sentiments as mine but I see a bit of young Yoichiro Kakitani in Shunsuke Saito. Kakitani is slightly more acrobatic but Saito shoots from far-distance better. Shuto Nagano is really performing well in the J3, on another note. Hope Fc Tokyo can recall him next season, so that they can have a Shuto Nagano-Kanta Doi CB pairing as the starting CB Duo.
Yeah heard that too. Would be very very cool. I don't know that much about Ando but he looks like a freaking hulk. Big and muscular. Do you know more about him ?
Satoshi Tanaka from Düsseldorf will join Schalke in the Bundesliga. Great move, will post a thread when official. Kodai Sano after rumours could join Stuttgart also.
J league straight to La Liga might be too big of a step-up imo, should have went Netherlands/Belgium first or Segunda Division like Kazunari Kita. Hope won't end up the same as Kota Takai.
La Liga is very high-level, J-League straight to there may not be suitable. Kota Takai was like 1 of the best CBs in J-League before he went EPL, in the end he never even played a single minute in official competitions for half a season then went to Bundesliga and did not impress. If he went Bjndealiga straight, then maybe would be in a better state now. Ryunosuke Sato is generally not seen as more talented as Kota Takai, if not wrong ? Thus, am abit worried that this may not end well. Have high hopes for him, and naturally worried that La Liga straight is too hig of a step-up.
Takai signed for Tottenham in the most difficult league in the world, in a special situation under a coach who knew about japanese football and that is not there anymore. It's also no one's fault he picked up injuries. Valencia is not Tottenham. They are just a mid table club and for them to spend 4 million, I'm sure they don't want to waste it that easily. For Tottenham it was penny money. La Liga's football is better suited to Sato than Premier or other leagues. But sure, of course it can still go wrong. I wouldn't compare to two cases.
But the common consensus was that Kota Takai had more potential than him right? Am just being slightly worried that Sato might end up in the same fate, by joining La Liga straight.
Fair point, that could happen of course but I would say when a club has faith in a player it has a higher potential to succeed. Let's see
I hope he does not end in the same fate as Kota Takai, am a very big fan of him as he is versatile and has a high work-rate. Very tricky in terms of dribbling in tight spaces too, have high hopes for him.
