So Ferguson doesn't want Rossi to leave and has given Smith permission to talk to Middlesbrough. Funny that. The only way Rossi will now leave is if Tevez and another striker are brought in.

that deal would make no sense to me, why get rid of rossi for another guy who plays the same position, is not acclimated to the club or pl, is less proven than rossi, is older than rossi, and though a very talented player, has less upside than rossi. why would united do that?

Botton line is that when Tevez deals go through, Fergie will loan or sell G.Rossi.

Its' not going to happen until the Tevez thing is sorted out, and even then only if Rossi actually wants to leave. If Smith goes, then, like Teso has been saying, he wont be leaving, because United will be short of strikers should Rooney or Tevez get injured.

It would appear that Rossi wants to leave. There have been plenty of comments to that effect from his agent, see above. If you're Rossi, and you've had Ferguson tell the world that Tevez is gonna squeeze you out, then it's clear you've got no future at the club, whether Tevez arrives or not.

Before the Tevez affair, Rossi and his agent were always steadfast in saying that his future was at ManUtd. The music has changed.

Now ManUtd may keep him as an insurance policy, but again, Rossi has proven to the soccer world (excluding Ferguson) that he's a difference maker on the field and ought to be playing.

Rossi would not start for any elite club side. That is his current problem. He's a very good talent but not quite ready to be a starter upfront, which is why he was loaned out twice. Hopefully he will get more opportunities this season, particularly in our new system but that remains to be seen. It's certainly not the case that the club does not rate him.

Good move for him but a truely horrendous one for Man Utd. We will have never got what he is worth, lost one of the best young players in the world and left our striking options seriously depleted before the start of the season. Not a good move by any stretch of the imagination, particularly with Smith also leaving, Tevez delayed and Saha/Solsjaer injured. It makes zero sense. I was expecting him to start tomorrow against Inter as well. Looks like we are back on the market for a striker.

Re: Rossi Scores the Best Goal of the Day

I can't believe this....Why fucking villareal?? Very promising young player, already proven in serie a, plenty of Italian teams after him.....he probably also fucked up his post-under 21 national team chances with this move, as I can't see Donadoni calling him up (like it happens for Moretti, Maresca and the likes), unless he becomes a Baggio/Del Piero/Totti/Pirlo-like champion (which i really don't believe)....only explanation is that he'll take much more money in spain than in italy.....spanish fiscal policy for eu-passport holding professionals with temporary contracts is really killing italian mid-clubs chances of getting good eu players...hopefully our governement will seek intra-eu armonization.....though taxes aren't really european business....or maybe parma and napoli weren't really interested and let him go. Mah. Anyways, I wish he does well.

bingo, the tax laws mean that we have to pay almost 25-30% more in wages to break even with what players could get in spain, one of the reasons milan didn't go after henry. they have to change that, it is hurting the league.

Nice. Rossi found a new team to sit on the bench with.

    Jon Dahl Tomasson
    Franco
    Jose Mari
    Nunes
    Rossi

you dumb dumb sh!t Rossi. This will lead him to sitting on the bench for Villareal and the U-21 team. Atleast he will get a taste of the top 3 leagues.
