Guess the local pre-season games are out. I miss the road trip to Fresno and UCSB. At least we have the SJ one this year.

Maybe some scrimmage games with the NY Red Bulls before they go off to Hawaii? Since they will be training at the HDC Feb 3-17, I would imagine there will be some possibilities to get some games in.

It seems that Ruud will have the Gals in shape for the pre-season tour:

"CARSON, Calif.– The LA Galaxy have finalized their 2008 preseason training plans, which will officially begin on Monday, February 4, leading up to the start of the 2008 MLS season.

New Galaxy Head Coach Ruud Gullit has five matches scheduled in February and March, highlighted by the Pan-Pacific Championship and Asia Tour 2008 as the club prepares for the 13th season of Major League Soccer.

Following two intensive weeks of training at The Home Depot Center that will see the players train twice a day, the club will depart for Honolulu, Hawaii and the inaugural Pan-Pacific Championship.

Once in Hawaii, the Galaxy will continue to train in addition to playing a pair of games. On Wednesday, February 20, Gullit’s squad will take on Gamba Osaka of the Japanese J-League. Three days later, the Galaxy will take part in either the tournament’s Third Place Game or the Final, facing either the Houston Dynamo or a soon to be determined Australian A-League side."

...and when the hell will Australia decide who to send to the Pan Pacific Money Grab (championship? Yeah right!)??? Gotta play pre-season games but the name of the tournament is a little overwhelming....but whatever...I'm probably jealous I won't attend the games because the wife didn't find this to be a good vacation idea.

I thought I read somewhere that ESPN Classic will cover the tournament in Hawaii.
