This thread will follow any news/updates in regards to Futsal in El Salvador. That means both the Futsal league as well as the national team.

FANTASTIC news!!! This has been a long time coming and i'm really glad it's finally looks to be happening. Hopefully with the creation of the league we can begin to take futsal seriously and make a real attempt at qualifying for a World Cup!

I've said it before but the only problem is that they only hold that event every four years, while it really should really be every two IMO. But whatever, i'm just glad we are branching out and opening up variations of football. Fingers crossed that we'll also get women's league up and running at some point in the future too.

Did you read the articles?

It's a brand new league. As for how many teams, well right now they are saying there will be anywhere between 100-120 (divided within four playing zones).

Too lazy. Anyways ES seems too behind in futsal. I believe even Panama has a futsal league and its surprising ES did not.

Too much so if you ask me.

Don't know about Panama but i agree about El Salvador. We've never really given to much importance to Futsal. It's a shame really. That seemingly looks to be changing though, so hopefully it continues and we can make real attempts in the future at possibly making it to a World Cup.

I'm really dissapointed that not much seems to be done in trying to start something in the FUTSAL side of things. It would be nice to see ES begin to take real steps forward to become well in this.

At U11 the kids play 11 vs 11 here in Texas and almost most of the time the bigger and faster kids owned up the smaller and slower kids who might be more technical than then, these teams like the long ball and are good at the younger age. In Futsal that's not the case. Futsal is not really cover much in the media I don't see allot of promotion for it, but its a good rout for kids to develop at a young age. I'm surprise ES does not have allot of promotion for their Futsal team.
