As someone who was living here but having just finished my freshman year of college, I, too, would love the opportunity to see it here as I am now better off financially.
The '94 WC was the first WC, and probably first soccer in general that I ever saw. I remember sitting on my grandma's floor watching every single game of the tournament, and I was hooked. I was probably about 8 or so, so I'd love to have it back here.
Now that world cup 2010 is over and the tv cameras have all left south Africa I'm left wondering....where were all the statues and homages to Dr. Khumalo, the Michael Jordan of South African soccer.
They were too valuable to just leave on the streets. They were safely placed in vaults during the World Cup and soon will again majestically grace the streets of Johannesburg.
