Crap - the season's over. What do we do until April?

No more sitting on the couch with the wife, beers in hand,
watching 3 games on a Saturday night.
No more weird DirectKick guitar music.
No more planning out the roadtrips to a game
do we have the chips, beer, soda, soccer ball, subs?
The league is still small enough that
you get to know almost every player.
Yes we can watch the EPL, Bundesliga, Brazil on FSW
and yes the quality is higher
but it's just not the same.

What concerns me is the possibility of DC fans being even *more* obnoxious.

Yeah, there will be plenty to talk about.

With the expansion draft, coach replacements, stadium progress/regress, players moving abroad, players moving back, new kits, superdraft, trades, 2006 expansion talk, etc.

    We'll get through it.

As an Earthquakes fan, I absolutely hunger for a relatively-unexciting (or at least a positively-exciting) offseason for the first time in ages. :(

Yeah, I'm real pumped for that. Wednesday will be like the 5 AM breakfast at the all-night diner after a long night of painting the town red and black. :D

CD Chivas. Real Salt Lake. The new FC Dallas. Young MLS starlets maturing into bright worldclass stars. Season 2004 is barely over and I am already salivating for season 2005.

The worst part for me? My MLS offseason can't start yet.

I didn't get to actually watch the match today-- ESPN International over here didn't show it live, as it had Spanish and Italian league matches in the live time slot during MLS Cup (although the channel had it live last year, much to my delight for more than that reason alone).

Instead, I have to wait until Thursday night at 1 a.m. before I can enjoy the MLS Cup broadcast. However, as great a game as it apparently was, maybe waiting isn't such a bad thing after all... just prolongs the start of my offseason. :)

And if it sounds like I'm in two minds over the start of the offseason, that's probably because I am.

I joined BigSoccer at the start of the 2004 season and I was wondering if theres a big drop off in activity once the season ends? Just curious, cuz I've only been here during the season. And like what the hell are we supposed to talk about now?

I'll echo what JMMUSA8 said-- stuff of the "hot stove league" variety.

It all gets interesting from here. :)

cool, because before I joined BS I ver really heard much talk of trades, transactions, etc. So about my other question: does this forum (the MLS part) get any less active now that the MLS season is over?
