The world hasn't ended. Hmmm. So the day is off to a much better start than I expected.

It's gonna be a porkfest, for sure. No checks and balances, anywhere.

Thank god I didn't kill myself in my sleep. Now I can go kill all the idiots whose vote was based on "values". According to CNN's exit polling these people believe Bush to be more trustworthy and they deserve to die.

We'll just have to hope that the GOP pork itself to death and they get voted out in 2006 and 2008, or god forbid, they practice some fiscal sanity.

I'll be okay with either of the above.

The Democratic Party has lost touch with reality. People in this country still care about value issues. If the war in Iraq was going better then Bush would've won comfortably, the Congress stayed Republican, and the Senate Minority Leader lost. Doesn't that say something about what the values of America are?

Wake up progressives! You are losing ground in this country.

I wish I could see the faces of Alec Baldwin, Susan Surandin, Tim Robbins and all the other Hollywood douche bags. And Puff Daddy...I hate that guy. Maybe he'll go try his "Vote or Die" thing in Iraq when they have their elections. Although the slogan may not go over so well there.

I'm just...gutted. I don't know why this country has turned so parochial and bitter. I don't know why people can't see through the politics of fear.

I think if I had the opportunity today, I'd move elsewhere. I'll probably feel differently tomorrow, but for today I'm just depressed and frightened at the direction in which this country headed.

Well that totally sucked ass. I'd like to just give a big FU to the exit polls. It wouldn't have been half as bad had I not gotten my expectations up during the middle of the day.

Four more years of the shrub.

Any early predictions as to who will be in the running for 2008?

OK, it's time to still be a little bit hopeful / delusional -- has anyone said for certain how many provisional ballots are there in Ohio?

EDIT: I found the answer to my own question. 135K provisionals known + 15K estimated others isn't enough for Kerry to have a chance. It's over.

Well, people who know more than us (unless there are any high ranking Democratic Party officials posting on Big Soccer) are saying that the Ohio race is a dead issue. So dead, it seems, that Kerry himself has thrown in the towel.

The Democratic Party has to figure out what they've done to get the entire South to turn on them, not to mention most of the midwest.

EDIT: Hey, obie, you edited before I posted, so now I look like a mental patient.... :p

All the major news outlets are reporting that Kerry has conceded and will address the nation at 1 PM EST

I hope this is intended as a joke. If not, it shows considerable ignorance.

The Dems need a Southern strategy. Edwards brought nothing to the ticket.

Edwards would have a difficult time being reelected in NC. They think he went to the senate just for his own self-aggrandizement. Far from bringing nothing in the South, he hurt them.
