Thanks! I'll be there!! Woo hoo!! Go Quakes!! PS - This is the official one guys. Sorry for the confusion I might have caused by trying to arrange this on my own.
Since this has the new "official" word, I'm going to close the other thread so no one gets confused. Thank you, Quakes office, and thanks again SJQF for your efforts. I was pulling my hair out about not being able to see this.
Official Earthquakes Viewing Party Hubby and I will be there! This is my first 'official' event other than the games. Looking forward to meeting some of you!
YES!!!! I'll already be in Almaden for the walk so I guess I'll just have to stick around until 4!! Yeah!! Go Quakes!!
I suppose that it is still going to be on match tracker. However, the match tracker may now head for the Almaden Brit.
Tape, anyone? I'll be in SF and Marin. My shootout package connection is outta town. Would anyone be willing to tape said game and part with said tape temporarily? I'M DYING TO WATCH THIS GAME!
You have the following options: (1) MLS Shootout Package on Digital Cable or Dish/Satellite. (2) Matchtracker on sjearthquakes.com possbile (3) Eagle 103.9 I do not believe there will be a web audiocast from 1430 AM here--your best bet would be the Eagle.
It doesn't matter anymore. I'll be at a friend's grantparents' anniversary party most of the game. I'll only get to hear the first 15 minutes or so before I have to leave.
if the eagle is the one from columbus, that one sucks. It would go like 5 minutes and then cut out, i never got to hear anything exciting. Grrrr, I guess next year I should shell out money for the shootout package.
That's what I'm doing. Gotta get digital cable and the Shootout package. Thought about doing it last year but, of course, decided against it.
Better check and see if digital cable has it first. I'd recommend against cable, but that is because I've had such bad experiences with AT&T (especially when they had the Shootout Package last year, OMG).
They had it but I put off getting it and eventually it was too late. But first I have to get digital cable so I'll make it through the winter.
Great news, I tell ya! I hope this is not a hoax, either way if it is, I'll be at the right place to drown my sorrows, get stinking sloshed, break a window or two, get into a scuffle with the meter maid...er, well you get the idea. See ya there. btw, I wonder if the downtown Brit will also carry the broadcast? Any inside info?
They might, but downtown will be a zoo. The Brew Ha Ha festival is outdoors in San Pedro Square tomorrow and Sunday (right by the Brit, so goodbye parking). There will also be lots of Sharks pregame diners invading downtown later in the afternoon.
damn sharks i read on the MLS website, it says the shootout gets the MLS enhanced stadium feed. what the hell is that? is there no tv broadcast so they have the junior high AV club shooting it? huh?
Every MLS game, televised or not, is taped in order to provide a videotape of the game to each team, to the referee, and to the league for distribution to the assessor (although there is an assessor present at each game, the actual 'grade' is given by an assessor who bases it only on the game tape). At Spartan, this usually means a camera at the halfway line, and one in the north endzone.
I get the impression we're going to be looking at Crew Stadium's in-house video feed (like the one on the scoreboard...the one where those of us who stayed after MLS Cup last year watched Yallop's press conference... ). And I think their major point about it being a radio feed over it is to get people prepared for the fact this isn't a pro broadcast, so the audio and video may not always synch up. For those of us at the Brit, we probably won't be able to hear the audio feed anyway. How early should we get there? Any of you who watched the Cup there last year got any suggestions?
