Man, oh, man are the Red Wings going to be tough this year. Yes, even better than last year. They've added speed and youth and as I write this are toying with the San Jose Sharks, on the road. The Wings scored two short-handed goals within the first 7 minutes of the game and very nearly had a third. It's midway thru the 2nd period, Wings winning 4-1 against what is thought to be one of their main rivals for the Western crown. Many of my friends in the Bay Area were talking a lot of smack this week on how the Sharks would dethrone the Wings. Funny, it seems there might be a storm in the Bay Area right now because I'm getting nothing but busy signals as I call to see if they're watching the game. The new winger Henrik Zetterberg, at 22 years old, is awesome. The also added a strong Russian defenseman who is 22. The Wings now have at least seven very good players under the age of 25. Look out NHL! The Wings may lose less games than the Lions this year. Bring on the Flyers, Avs, Stars, Sharks, and all the other pretenders. Oh yeah, one last thing...the Blackhawks still suck.
