Chasing the Metros I would think that the Mestroscum beating Dallas would be even worse news for New England, as even if they win the rest of their games and finish with 38 points, they still could finish behind NY/NJ, if the scum pick up some points in their other games. At least DC can control its own fate by winning all four (however unlikely this is). New England will only get in if another team falters. Also, maybe the target actually becomes Chicago and/or KC now that Metroscum have taken over first place (!!) in the East.
Feel free to tell me that my eyes are deceiving me - that the game really is being TV broadcast. dcu.com does not list a TV broadcast. True?
Overly confident outrageous prediction 1-0 DC ABMOD with the goal. There, now I've damned us unto the bowels of 2 more losing seasons, many more disgruntled Salvadoran fans, and Baseball at RFK.
Revised predictions if we go with 4-5-1??? Check this out from Cybersoccernews: www.cybersoccernews.com/mls/dcunited/020905United.shtml DC might revert to a 4-5-1 against New England this weekend!!!!! Perhaps this was the secret tactical info that some on the Q&A with Ray thread were keeping mum about, but Hudson himself isn't nearly so shy. If Jaime is the lone foreward, talk about pressure on a guy who may not be in the best position to handle it! So -- having finally burst out of the scoring slump in a big fashion last weekend (albeit due to the risky approach of Pope and Nellie going forward) now Hudson wants to go back to one forward? Wasn't part of the reason for Pope and Nelsen's success going forward that the other defense still also had two strikers to worry about??? How are we going to break down New England with only Moreno up top!!! Perhaps Hudson realizes that Pope and Nellie are our best hope, and he plans to throw them forward midway through the second half and just want all other decent defensive players on the field already to provide cover!!! If Hudson goes with 4-5-1 for more than 65 minutes, I predict 0-0, or perhaps NE 1-0 DC with a 91st minute counter-strike from Twellman as Hudson throws Nellie and Pope into the attack finally realizing that we must score to win (or else be eliminated from the playoffs), but in the process leaving us open to counterattacks. Ralston only needs to beat Reyes once and put in a dangerous cross if neither Pope or Nellie is back in the middle to neutralize Twellman. ARGGGHHH!
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, (and I am sure that I am since I haven't done any research other than easy math) but with the Metros and Columbus tied for first with 35 pts, is it possible for us to win out and still win the division? If Metros and Columbus lose all their games and we win out that gives us 38 pts to their 35, right? There has to be a flaw to my delusion somewhere. Quick!!! Pinch me before I am forever lost in the World of Dreams...
DC will win this game 2-1. And despite closing the season with a 2-1-1 record, over the last four games, we need to look to 2003. The big question for Hudson remains, is this the core of a team that can contend in 03 or is it finally time for a major rehaul. I think Hudson will come to the conclusion 3 years of missing the playoffs with the same core of money players is enough. Then again.... Hey what the heck. I've got DirecTV and I'm going to enjoy the game.
Online Radio of game? Is there a website where I can heard the game? I live in Florida so I really don't have any way to watch the regional games. Plus we have no teams here either... DC is the nearest team to us. Prediction: DC 3 NE 2 OT Sora
Problem is that Chicago plays Columbus twice. So if Columbus loses all its games, Chicago gets six points and wins the division.
