If it's any consolation the Spurs fans I talked to for the game in Oct had no idea why they went either. I couldn't count the number of people who were muttering "I can't believe I spent £20 on that." It seemed like just force of habit. Hopefully DC can draw 10k or so.

    cheers,

Good call. Though, Marco has always put on vintage performances against big name foreign teams...still, let's give the keys to Stewart and Convey and play that "quick" soccer everyone seems to be talking about these days.

While I think Sheringham would score a ton of goals for us, I don't think it'll happen. No way we can afford him without ridiculous rule bending.

That said, I'd be glad to see those rules bent.

Kind of wondered about those things. I think Harkes starting was a given once he was coming out for this.

Interesting. I'd rather see Ivanov in the middle though...that is where he's supposed to play. Something like this:

    --------- Rimando
    -- Petke Ivanov Prideaux
    Olsen Nelsen Harkes Kovalenko
    ------- Etcheverry
    ---- Stewart Stoitchkov

If Petke is still feeling a bit of wear on his injury, then put Namoff out there. It would have been nice to have Stokes available for this match to come on and play his natural center back role. I'd also like to see Stewart back in attacking midfield and Quaranta up top, at least at some point during the game.

Our friendly results have been crazy. 5-4 loss to Leverkusen, complete with a near brawl between Jens Nowotny and Etch? Considering that, I'm predicting a score of 6-6, Prideaux and Kazuyuki Toda both getting a hat trick.

    Pre-Game Ceremonies?

Are there any Pre-Game Ceremonies for Harkes? I have tickets and want to know if I need to be there before 7:30 pm.

    Thanks

During their first match in England earlier this month (or last year??) the FSW had the game on live and now in our own back yard no live show or anything its ridiculous, isn't it ?

It's as much a question of fitting it into their schedule as anything.

I seriously hope that Etcheverry doesn't see the field tonight. He's injured! We have a game that actually matters on Saturday. This is not rocket science.

Now, I'm one of the crowd that thinks Etcheverry should have gotten his surgery done a couple of weeks ago instead of playing injured, and I also am of the crowd that thinks he should be benched in favor of Convey in the middle, but if you're going to stick with him for the time being, he shouldn't be on the field tonight in a game that simply doesn't matter...

sorry your Chantilly team lost to Oakton last night. it was a well-played game for the most part. you did alright on the side of midfield. (I coach the boys JV at Oakton and was on the sidelines for the game).

anyway... I'm looking forward to the match tonight. I'm praying for some goals. the last two 0-0 ties were torture. I hope Harksie plays well. it will be good to see the true #6 out there again!

    match of importance

im a lifelong spurs fan, and have been dissapointed by the lack of progress this season under hoddle. But Im looking forward to spurs competing against dc again. I was at the lane (white hart lane) when the two teams played each other earlier in the season and had a great night. With the likes of gazza, and klinsmann returning to play in the famous lilly white shirts. Hope the game over on your patch is just as enjoyable.

Just a pity our players morale is at the lowest Ive ever seen.

    2-0 spurs! keane 1 barnard 1

For the November match, FoxSports just picked up the Sky Sports or BBC feed, since it was televised in the UK. They didn't even bother with the usual L.A.-studio voice over.

No the game will not be televised.

Does anyone know which special event ticket to use for this game?

I cannot find the letter which gives this information.
