    DC United 1 :: 2 Richmond Kickers

    ...

    That sucked.

At least Nana scored a goal.
    ...

It worked before, so I'll try it again ...

    To All Those Who Attended

I will give positive rep for substantial, in-depth analysis of Kevin Ara's play.

By the way, I think I got around to everyone but if I still
owe you rep from the last time around then just PM me.

(NOTE: A lot of this hand-wringing is unwarranted, since I didn't see the game. But it's either type it here or yell at the neighbor's dog.)

I don't care if he's free. Cut Stokes now.

Of course, putting only one on the board against Richmond is a bad sign. It's going to be tough as long as we're missing 3/5 of our first choice midfield (Convey, Olsen, Stewart).

I think that Convey's departure is going to hurt a lot more than strict stats would indicate. His ability to hold on to possession while still going forward and making dangerous runs is really underestimated by relying on goal and assist tallies.

I know that Gros is the current golden child on this board, and yes, he's been great. But he hasn't shown me anything that would indicate that he can put the midfield on his shoulders and go. I wonder how much of his fantastic (and it has been fantastic) play thus far has been because opposing teams see him as the third or fourth option in our midfield.

Eski's hot streak looks more and more like exactly that, rather than him improving. If so, we still desperately need a finisher.

    Our defense without Nelsen=crap.

Well that sucked! I never want Stokes to don another DC United shirt in his life unless he is in the stands.... :(

Typical DC United - all possession and attack and beaten on counter attacks... :(

It's pretty obvious to me that this team won't miss a beat without Convey..

I simply can't see a win in United's future.. Aug 11 at home is our best chance..

    Blech......

The best 2 players on the field for us apparently are Nana and Adu. Our execution sucks. How many great chances should you have to get for you to score?

With some hope that he will be told to find his own way home from the match.

Oh, you're quite right! We're obviously playing so much better now without him.

Nope. Same old team with and without Convey, with and without Stewart, with and without Olsen. All possession ............... no punch.

I'm willing to give the team SOME benefit of the doubt cause Nellie wasn't in there, but still....you have to finish. Period.

I'll reserve judgement on Stokes till I hear from my boys who were at the match, but I've got a pretty good idea of what they'll say. Kasper and Payne better be burning up the phone lines.

    Oh, Jesus Christ.

This loss sucks, but since dismantling the Metrtos, we have lost 1-0 away and drew 1-1 at home to the two best teams in the league. They haven't fallen apart any more than they were destined to run the table after a 6-1 win.

Let's jump off a bridge when we get bumped out of MLS Cup contention. For now, just make a small incision in your wrist.

So the Eskandarian hot streak has officially ended with a big thud! Why was Stokes substituted into the game at halftime? Apparently Kevin Ara had a rough outing as well, he was subbed out at half.

Since I won't be here when they check in, big props to the gang that made the trip. As always, I'm sure you did us proud.
