Jose, Can we jazz up that title thread a bit? It looks a little too bland. My heart says a big United win, but my head tells me that this is MLS and when you play in MLS you lose matches that you should win.. You see it all the time.. Who would have thought that United and Colorado would have put up 7 goals combined after going scoreless 3 days earlier? You just never know in this league.. I'm hoping United can build on their recent confidence and score an early goal for once and put the Revs behind the 8 ball.. NE struggles when they trail but seem to thrive when they get a lead.. Having Twellman in France is also a big plus in at least Hudson won't comment on him being merely a poacher.. My guess is a 2-1 victory for United with Curtis and Esky scoring...
I'm just really excited the sun's SUPPOSED to come out! Hopefully Lake Barra will dry out and we watch our boys put on another clinic. DC 3 Revs 1
DC United-New England pre-game I guess as good a place to look as any is the Revs thread on the subject: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=55347 Kam's hamstring is, apparently, day-to-day. GM
Looking forward to the sun this weekend, and hopefully some more goals from DCU. Should be quite a party at RFK, hope to see more of you out there this weekend.
Will Jekyll or Hyde show up for this game? This team needs to start showing up consistently if anyone, especially the fans, are going to take them seriously. They've been teasing us recently, so will we reach the oasis or will it just be a big mirage? I honestly can't tell or fathom a guess.
I'd like to see Ray start the same line-up as the Columbus game, but substitute Esky for Hristo earlier. Why not go with what has worked?
bottom line...this is the biggest game of the season so far BY FAR a win and united is legitimately back in the east race. A loss and they are 7 points back of NE, and having to go away for the next 2 games to an angry columbus and a dallas team that for somereason always pisses us off. NE will be looking to get back on the right track after a 4-1 throttling last weekend. However, as we all know, motivation is not enough to win games, and DC should by no means be complacent. My optomistic prediction. United 2 New England 1, Olsen gets his first goal of the season as the game winner, ali levels the score after a slow start and a rare dc defensive breakdown, or maybe an NE goal on a counter.
Re: ... mod's note ... Thanks Knave. Sorry for the bland first post, I posted before drinking coffee this morning. I was wondering what was up with no DC United PRE match thread.
Olsen has been very close lately, so I am not to worried about him. In fact, Olsen had a rocket of a shot against Colorado that just barely missed the top-corner by inches.
i can dream can't i? hristo scores early... esky off the bench with another... bennie scores on a counter assited by q1... marco finishes the scoring in the 91st minute chipping the goalie... 4-0 DC
wouldn't either of these options be considered the same as any number of our games prior to the Chicago win?
