not a dream, but a glorious memory none the less Seems I remember way back a time where we were on similar ground with respect to the Crew, back in 1999... last game of the regular season at RFK and I distinctly recall a friend of mine recanting a revised Blink 182 llne after the game, namely "We did it all for United, for United, so you can take that cookie and stick it up your Crew, stick it up your Crew." -apologies to Fred Durst. Simple deduction here, ladies and gents. Three simple but important if's to be accomplished, and we should secure 1 if not 3 very important points. 1) The defensive glue holds on our back 4- in spite of whatever combonation is fielded, and penalties are avoided at all costs- for this game and more importantly for the immediate future. 2) Eliseo and Bobby BOTH have to show us once again the culmination of their potentials ON THE PITCH. 3)And probably the most contraversial, depending where we are in the match throughout the night- Hristo and Etch need to be as Ray is so found of putting "Warriors", and put the fear of God, or in the case, the Devils, into Columbus' back line by nearly emptying the magic from their collective left feet. Truth be told by all now- would YOU want to be out there with Columbus tied 0-0 at the 65-70th minute and see these 2 ready to come on??
Well said. Every so often, a simple utterence can so precisely capture the rich tapestry of a complex and confusing world.... Brings a tear to the eye, really...
Re: not a dream, but a glorious memory none the less Umm...not to nitpick or anything, but it's Limp Bizkit, not Blink 182. I don't really listen to either; it's more of a "know your enemy" sort of thing. Anyhow, does anyone plan on watching this game somewhere besides home? I thought about going to Lucky Bar to catch that and the other two league matches, but I don't want to be the only one screaming my ass off in a United shirt in a bar full of college football-watching frat-wankers. Anybody?
My prediction: we lose. Our team is decimated w/injuries, suspensions, tired from so many games lately. Columbus is hungry and desperate. This is gonna be like going into a buzzsaw......I know I'm sounding like sormun on this one, but I also predicted we could kill the Metros at the Meadowlands, which we did.
According to Tony Lamarzi, he's from UAB and been the backup keeper at various other clubs. He's only 20, but seems capable.
Isn't this keeper the guy that's league owned? That gets passed around for teams who didn't want to carry three keepers? Because, if so...then what happened to the Jorge Geddes experiment?
Anyone listening to the Crew webcast? The Crew GM said, "It looks like a bit of gamesmanship, which DC is well known for." *#*#*#*# you, Jim Smith. RS
The DC United Youth Fan Club's new slogan: Join the club that gets you as close to the action as you can...and maybe even called into the match!
Sorry. I've been on the phone talking with Adelphia cable who are currently f'ing me over. Or Indeman is screwing me because they apparently never notified Adelphia of this weekend's schedule. Either way I'm not getting the game on TV and I've only just begun listening to the webcast now. I'll just retitle this thread.
Works for me. Doesn't sound like we're doing too bad. Midfield is holding up, and the forwards are looking dangerous. This'll be an interesting second half.
